Investments worth millions of naira can be lost and will go down the drain in seconds where there is no proper and adequate means of combating fire when it gets out of control.

Fire comes to mind of everyone when hell is mentioned,because of its hazardous effects to human lives, properties,ecological system and even water contamination and pollution, although fire has been used by humans in rituals, in agriculture for clearing land, for cooking, generating heat and light, for signalling, propulsion purposes, smelting, forging, incineration of waste, cremation, and as a weapon or mode of destruction,Its adverse effects can not be overlooked.





Building codes and government regulations has made it mandatory that fire fighting and preventing equipments like Sand buckets,automated water sprinklers, Automated fire and heat detectors, Disk hose,fire dampers and Fire extinguishers are putted in place to check fire outbreak in institutions of work and learning, even residential and public places.




Awareness and sensitisation have been done by many government agencies,Non governmental agencies, charity organisations and international Organisations just to make sure people have the knowledge of what to do when there is a fire out break.
After all this measures have been put in place, so many people are still ignorant of what to do when there is a fire outbreak.

Below are few safety measures to take when in a fore situation:

(1)BE CALM AND THINK.

Taking off immediately there is a fire outbreak is always the first thing that comes to the mind of every victim of fire outbreak, but studies has shown that making a rash decision might lead to loss of lives and property.


(2) STAY AWAY FROM ELECTRIC INSTALLATIONS AND APPLIANCES.

To avoid shock and electrocution, Make sure you stay away from every Electric installations and Appliances.
