The official flag-Off of the Ikorodu-Sagamu expressway project is today and the former Governor of Lagos State and current Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Fashola was present to flag-off the project.The event was also witnessed by Senator Gbenga Ashafa, Chairman, Senate Committee on Land Transport,
Special Adviser to President Muhammed Buhari in Diaspora, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Ikorodu council of Obas (traditional rulers), residents, among others.

The Special Adviser to President Muhammed Buhari in Diaspora went on twitter to speak about the event.

Abike Dabiri has root in Ikorodu, as Mrs Alakija.

I hardly see Fashola and Gov. Ambode commissioning or scrutinizing some federal project in Lagos together. is there any beef between them. Am just asking oh.

i actually live around the area, and i.must say the project is actually on course with pw doing the ogijo axis.a single road built by awolowo in the 60s but negelect by successive government speaks volume of how we praise mediocrity and appreceiate self inflicted suffering.under the cluless he choose to do a shady work by constructing the culvert before first gate which as remained a death trap for truck drivers.if the dullard can succesfully complete that road in.time then pdp is.a.shame to goverance

Abike Dabiri is from Ikorodu. She used to represent Ikorodu Federal Constituency in the House of reps. Fashola and Ambode can never be seen closely with each other. Fashola never supported Ambode's ambition and election.

it's a good feat by the Buhari administration. But a question, How many Kilometer is that Ikorodu - Shagamu road sef?

That's a federal project in her constituency.

The road is long overdue. I pray they finish the project on time. Shame to Ogunlewe who could not do anything on this road when he was the minister for works under PDP being a native of Ikorodu town.

Under PDP, they had an Ikorodu indigene named Engr. Adeseye Ogunleye who was the Minister of Works but he refused to fix this road. While out of office, rumours have it that he got the contract to fix this very important road but he 'ate' the money.

Due to this road, the PDP and Ogunkewe have been so discredited in Ikorodu that despite being from Ikorodu, Ogunlewe's son couldn't contest there. He had to go to Kosofe to contest for the Lagos House of Assembly which he lost woefully.

Now, it's Fashola fixing the road.

For the record pilling started under GEJ, Fashola haulted the project.


Before you talk of process
From negotiations and settlement with communities and payments of counterpart funding by necessary parties to even design, ROW clearance, surveying to dredging etc


Did FASHOLA do any of these.

But your South Western media claimed nothing was going on?

Now u guys have sense to say process can delay a project


By the way what has happened to OgoniLand cleaning?

Can process hold it for 3years?

If you want to flag off projects great but trying to score cheap points by mentions 16years which 99% of current APC members were part of is stupidity

Whether campaign strategy or not, glad they've finally started fixing that road. That route has degraded to the point that even walking down the road is frustrating, not to talk of driving. However, it would be mediocre of us to start applauding the govt for fulfilling its basic responsibilities. It still remains an embarassiment that we allow such important facilities to degenerate to such a deplorable level before measures are taken for repairs. Those that need to be voted out still need to be voted out.
