Media personality, Sola Salako Ajulo in a post shared on her Facebook page, says the church has no business in marriage and that their involvement over the years has messed up many marriages.

Ajulo said this while reacting to the new law in RCCG where intending couples are to undergo genital examination as part of their pre-marital assessment.

''It is time for the Church to stop usurping the role of the family in marriage. Marriage as designed by God is a union of two families. There is nowhere in scripture where the church was the endorsing or approving authority in marriage! The church’s role is to teach believers to live according to the commandments of God whether in marriage or out of it! Too many marriages are messed up because the Church is meddling outside it’s divine jurisdiction! This embarrassment has to stop! NOW!'' she wrote

She doesn't even know what marriage is but can criticise the church's involvement.
Marriage is scripturally the union between two persons, a man and a woman (not two families).
The role of the church is to help preserve purity, decorum, direction and above all counselling for the intending couple and no one is bound. You can marry in court or traditionally. If you must marry in Church, you MUST be bound by the rules.
You can't come to a man's domain to live by your rules and policies. You must submit to host's policies and rules.
None of you can pull the Church down!

The early church is in no way superior to today's church. If today's church make marriage of the faithfuls her business then so be it...
People should stop looking to the early church for validation. They lived their lives to the best they could, today's church should do likewise.
