Overview

This program aims to enable technical understanding of planning, design and implementation of telecoms infrastructures involving Radio Network Optimizations, Satellite tracking and RF propagations.
Aside the generic understanding of the systems, participants have the opportunity of participating in hands-on practical with the use of a modern devices for demonstration.

Learning Objectives
At the end of this course, participant will be able to:

 Understand the Principle of RF engineering (Wi-Fi, microwave radio configuration)
 Carry out Radio Link and Satellite link site survey and link plan design.
 Identify hand-On-tools and uses.
 Carry out operation, basic installation & maintenance RF devices
 Understand the Principle of wireless networks and RF optimisation
 Good command of Satellite Communications (VSAT) and Frequency conversion

Target Participants
Field Engineer, Telecoms Engineer, NYSC members, Undergraduates, instrumentation engineers, and ICT Instructors.
Methodology
Lectures complemented by hands-on simulation using modern devices/equiments in line with constantly changing environment and requirements.

• RF and Radio Technology Fundamentals – Point To Point, PTMP Line Of Sight, Polarization, RF propagation, Fresnel Zone.
• Sources, causes and effects of RF interference
• Wireless communication techniques
• Wireless Backhauling
• WAN Fundamental Technical Concepts
• Site Survey, Link Budget
• Installation and Configuration techniques
• Access point and Client Radio implementation
