MAY 29 DEMOCRACY: SUSPENDED CIVIL SERVANTS AND A JOKE ON DEMOCRACY

You will recall that on assumption of office His Excellency Dr. I.A OKOWA suspended civil servants may 29 2015,who duly employed by Delta State under the administration of Dr. E.E Uduaghan in April 21st 2015, several appeal letter has been written but our governor has constantly show that prosperity for all Deltans is not achievable.it was on this an emergency meeting was held on Monday 20th May , 2018 to review the report and the finding of the verification exercise of civil servants in Delta state, Rising from an emergency meeting in Asaba a communique was issued as follow;
1. That the state has continue to ignore our call for peaceful resolution of the said matter, after several letter was sent to him, we wish to assure the state that we will not relent in our struggle in taking back our job.
2. Looking at the verification done in the state, we hereby state, that over 22,000 persons were discover to be ghost workers while 391 ought to have retired, totalling a vacancy of over 22,391, with this vacuum created the suspended civil servants can now be accommodated.
3. It is a well-known fact ,that natural course must take place, since the suspension of the about 980 employed civil servants and appointment letter fully issued, over 200 staff have since died, while over 7000 has retired due to compulsory year of service or age limit, these alone has open up space to accommodate all suspended civil servants in Delta state.
4. Looking at paragraph 3 above and there is still complain of no money to pay workers, one will conclude that there is a secret employment being carried out by the government without the knowledge of Deltans.
5. We recommend that the Special adviser to the governor on labour matters be relieve of his job for not advising the governor on the right step to take on the suspended civil servants, it’s been three (3) solid good years now and the governor cannot feel the pains of Delta and that of the suspended civil servants.
6. We wish to remind the governor that with God helping us, we were part of those who campaign for him from Oghara to all part of Delta state and eventually the election proper, we ensure, that all employed civil servant now suspended civil servants including their family and love ones vote for governor okowa in 2015, 2019 is around the corner , please be rest assure that if our matter is not attended to, we will repeat what we did in 2015 but this time to make sure you do not win and put us into shame again.
7. That, the economic and oil price has drop is no more an excuse, we know that the price of crude oil has significantly improve and internal generated revenue (IGR) has equally improve, while we do not want to go into the numbers of political appointee and Aides to the governor, we therefore call on him to take immediate step in recalling the suspended civil servants, our campaign posters for or against will soon be in every part of the state depending on the governor action.
8. We wish to remind the state , that we are even more united and stronger and we will stop at nothing to get our job back,the very more reason we are calling on the state to recall the suspended civil servants as its over 3 years now.
