Its quite unfortunate to see some disheartening comments here. We should all unite together and strive for a better health care system. Our health care system is totally poor starting from workers remunerations to facilities. Workers salary across all sectors is too low, Let everybody come out together and unite with one voice. Negative comments won’t help anybody, the increase in JOHESU salary won’t affect that of the Doctors. Moreover, JOHESU never asked for the same salary as that of the doctors, why so much hate within us. We Health care workers are to show love and care to our clients and patients, yet we have so much hate within us. You will be amazed to the see the strong team spirit within health workers outside of the country.

Someone would think the NMA is the one on strike with the spate they shell out press releases.
I thought they are supposed to be VERY BUSY attending to patients but they seem to have so much time on their hands.

So many Nigerians are gullible to the real agitation of Johesu, Since the ministry of doctors has been dishing out informations, they no longer care to read and know the crucifix behind Johesu strike.

It is even more ridiculous that some people think Johesu would agree to suspend the strike without any hope of something concrete. Those people ranting would be disappointed when the outcome of the negotiation would be announced.

And what happened after that statement, Did they resumed?. Forget all these sacking of a thing, it's only those that are not within the ambite of the law that will be afraid of sacking a worker that was duly employed and fighting for something that is his right. Health workers are never afraid of that sacking statement, Cos they know it's a child's play. Did you ask yourself why has Johesu refused to resume after the court ordered them to resume within 24hrs lastweek. That alone should speak volume to all discerning minds.

Abegi, leave those students Doctors jare. Wetin them know. Awon omo ewe ana. The ministry of doctors just twisted a statement of one of the Johesu official to there own advantage and they quickly went to the media to show how gullible and lazy they (doctors) are. Since the strike have begun, The hospital is as dead like a fly. They are frustrated. To attend to patients sef, na war, They went to the media to announce they are working in there different hospital but in the real fact, They reject patient and turned them back or referred them to there private hospitals.

When you write like this, they'll think you are weak, beggarly and dependent on them for means of livelihood.

Our predecessors have learnt that the healthcare system is a jungle and every gains they've made so far including the independent establishment of all health professions by their enabling acts was not acquired by begging malaria specialists.

Nothing excites me more than seeing a group of overglorified charlatans in white coats desperately screaming , threatening, crying, lamenting for JOHESU to resume work and releasing memos and counter-memos while 'very busy attending to patients in the working hospitals' which are actually empty. grin

Funny. grin

… As NIC takes over mediation process
By Luminous Jannamike

ABUJA – In consideration of the plight of health-seeking public and to give room for an amicable resolution of its dispute with the Federal Government, the Joint Health Sector Unions, JOHESU, on Wednesday agreed to suspend its 44 days old strike on Friday June 1, 2018.

This decision followed the intervention of the National Industrial Court, NIC, which offered to take over the mediation process between the striking health workers and the government.

Before now, an NGO, the Incorporated Trustees of the Kingdom Human Rights Foundation, KHRFI, had obtained a court order against JOHESU; mandating the health workers to suspend their industrial action on the 21st of May, 2018.

But, in pursuit of its constitutional rights to either comply or challenge the Court order, JOHESU filed an appeal at the Appellate Court.

However, the leadership of JOHESU decided to sheath its sword and direct the members of the union to resume duties since the NIC, as a neutral and impartial organ of the Judiciary, has mandated its mediation centre to take over the negotiation and reconciliation processes within the next 24 hrs in the interest of the public.

This is pure media deception..

A JOHESU Executive said: This info is wrong, the strike has not been called off yet.
We just left the court and we agreed that we would only call off the strike if the NIC is successful in its mediation as a neutral body BTW US and the FG.
If successful in 24 hrs we would immediately call off the strike.
But the strike is still on

The Agreement at National Industrial Court are as follows:
1. Court takes over the negotiations between
JOHESU & Govt in its Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Centre.

2. JOHESU & Govt side are to nominate their representatives in the ADR process within 24 hours.

3. The agreement reached at the ADR Centre will be registered in the Court as judgment binding on both parties.

4. JOHESU is to initiate the process of allowing normalcy to return to hospitals within 3 days.

Appeal from us: JOHESU is still consulting to take a decision which will be communicated to members accordingly. All social media & newspaper propaganda must be ignored until you hear from your representatives.

We are right now in the Senate for a meeting with the Senate President; NLC & TUC Leadership fully with us in the Senate now for the meeting.

Will keep you updated.

Thanks.
