I have acquired more than 20 skills in life and I must confess, skill is better than schooling. Only wisdom can compare.

If you use your phone or a computer to surf the net regularly, I'd advise you to learn these 3 skills:

1. Mavis Beacon (Typing skill)
2. HTML & CSS (Coding skill)
3. Graphic Design (Design skill)

These skills are easy, but they may look hard at first. Don't ever listen to anyone who says they're hard. Those people are lazy.

These three skills will make you a millionaire and in the future, a billionaire. I know what I'm saying, so humbly listen to me. I speak from experience.

If you don't have a computer yet, then learn HTML and CSS first. W3school is there.

Luckily, YouTube is all you need to acquire these three skills. You don't need to go to school to learn them.

Why don't you have a laptop? Please, start saving money to buy one. You need it. When you buy it, some Yahoo guys will try to lure you into doing shady businesses online, but ignore them and focus on what you bought it for. Trust me, you'll look back and smile when you master these three skills.

At night, subscribe for midnight browsing plan with Airtel or MTN for just ₦25, then head over to YouTube and look for a mentor on the first skill listed above, another mentor on the second skill, and finally another one on the third skill.

Download their beginners' videos and watch them on your phone if you don't have a laptop yet.

I have realized the reason most youths waste time online is because they don't have a mentor. They don't have anyone to guide them on how the internet works. I would've loved to guide some of you, but time isn't my friend. I don't want to promise to help and fail you tomorrow, so YouTube is the best option.

When you get on YouTube, make sure you look for a mentor who explains things in a lay man's language with step by step instructions.

When you find a mentor on these three skills, copy the URL of their YouTube page and save it. Also bookmark the page.

The best thing will be to try a few guys on YouTube, then follow the one you feel explains things in a simpler manner. For typing skill, you don't need a YouTube instructor. The software has all you need.

Benefits of Typing Skill

I'll first of all share a short story and how this simple skill helped me in life.

My motivation started when I saw a cousin typing on his laptop without looking at his screen or keyboard.

I was shocked and I thought he was a magician. I love this guy and everything he does amazes me.

I was still 14 years at the time.

Luckily, my uncle (mom's brother) had a desktop computer. After school, I'll trek (for 3 hours) to their community just to ask him to teach me how to type.

Unfortunately, he didn't have Mavis Beacon, so he opened MS Word, typed ASDF ;LKJ and placed my fingers on the right keys.

He taught me what to do, then told me to practice it for 1 hour and I should never look at my fingers, but on the screen.

Damn! It's was painful. I made too many mistakes. Whenever he goes outside his room, I'll look at my fingers as I typed.

Typing without looking was difficult at first. Unfortunately, he caught me looking at my fingers and warned me never to try it again, else, he will walk me outside and I'll never come to his room again.

Despite being a kid, I hate warning. I prefer to be slapped than to be warned. I felt bad and wanted to leave his room and go back, but I needed this skill BADLY.

I wanted to do those magic my cousin does with his fingers. This warning reset my brain to factory mode. What a wicked uncle. #smiles.
