Higher education: Dankwambo’s investment is critical to creating jobs and human development

The major expansions of higher learning institutions by the Gombe State Governor, Dr. Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo is of no doubt to bring about thousands of jobs to the state, and hundreds of millions of Naira through research, development and business activity.

With Dankwambo’s vision of making Gombe home to the best-educated, most-skilled and productive citizens, Dankwambo is investing much in higher education and the sub education sector to attain the educational need of the people of Gombe State and to attract the episode best and brightest non indigene to come to Gombe for their studies.

Dankwambo is undoubtedly preparing Gombe people for the 21st Century education and jobs.

Because, higher education is vital to the Gombe State economic development strategy, Governor Dankwambo builds on a strong partnership of public and private entities in the education to work together to educate and train the next generation of workers in Gombe state that will be globally competitive through the established and proposed higher institutions in the State.

This is one of many investments Dankwambo made to solidify Gombe’s status as the best in higher education and is already paying off by increasing Students enrollment in to the state owned higher Institutions and creating new jobs now, and bolstering long-term economic growth and innovation going forward.

Data shows that from 2011 to date jobs creations and students enrollment in to the higher institutions in Gombe State grow faster and unemployment is becoming lower than before, through the establishment of the College of Education Billiri, Gombe State Polytechnic Bajoga, College of Legal and Islamic Studies Nafada, Gombe State University of Science and Technology Kumo, and the opportunities will be continue increasing through the proposed Gombe State college of Accountancy, Gombe State College of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry, Institute of Journalism and Institute of Sports.

Some people may think that Governor Dankwambo is too ambitious.

No, this is exactly the kind of investment we need in Gombe State and our economy, for us and for our children and grandchildren.

The already established and the other proposed institutions will surely educate many more highly skilled, highly qualified sons and daughters of Gombe State to be the good citizens of the future.

“Most of the graduates will live in Gombe, work in Gombe, and help make Gombe the intellectual and economic success story State in the whole of Nigeria”.

Governor Dankwambo for his vision, courage and leadership, recently approved the released of the sum of N495Million for the payment of arrears of allowances and accreditation exercise of Gombe State University.
