Yesterday at #TA2018

It was a bright morning as usual, and for us at Tribe Nigeria, it was another day to impact and learn as well. It’s #day4 already, and the accelerator program has driven into full swing.

Our goal today was to expose students to the power of open-source, collaboration, and interaction, as well as tools for harnessing them. We talked about the almighty Github (a.k.a $7.5Bn), social media (Twitter and LinkedIn), and their importance to developers. We also cited wonderful examples like Otemuyiwa Prosper - whose story really served as a major inspiration for the students.

We soon introduced Incodebate, a platform that would allow learners to actively participate in building real life projects while still learning; after-all what is learning without doing?!

Then we had a taste of the Linux bash. Students learned how to use basic commands to navigate, create and delete files/directories, and more; they began to feel like hackers and all those geeks they see in movies in front of black screens. It was awesome indeed!

We expect that, in addition to having a lot of mentorship and guidance, and being competent software developers, our students would be great team players who can interact and collaborate with other developers around the world to solve problems.

The journey continues. We are excited about the future already. So to everyone with a software developer dream out there, take the step, this is the best period in the history of Africa to learn how to build solutions with software.

Still want to join our accelerator, slide into our dm on
we would be waiting to answer all your questions.
