Copied today from Comrade Chibuzor Asomogha - former ASUP President. *Nobody has scrapped the HND programme.* For no such policy is on the cards of the present government. What is being circulated on the social media is a version of the remake of a policy intended by Dr Obiageli Ezekwesili as Hon Minister of Education. The government then couldn't push it through. Indeed, ASUP had then gone to court to stop that policy. For the records, Malami (SAN), the current Minister of Justice was ASUP's counsel in the matter. Some fifth columnists, for whatever intent, usually recycles this bit of "breaking" news annually. It couldn't have been discussed at the last FEC meeting because the Hon Minister of Education is not even in the country. And indeed it hasn't been discussed at any other FEC meeting in this regime. I have clarified this with the Polytechnic Department at the FME. We should discourage the continued broadcast of this misleading news. |
