Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, has said that the cocoa production in Ondo state has gotten to a high capacity where more than 24,000 hectares of land has been cleared and a lot of seedling ready as the president is expected to visit the state in July to flag off the cocoa revolution project.
D uring a meeting with the management of African Development Bank in his office, Akeredolu said that the country is just trying to regain her lost glory in the production of cocoa because some countries even in the west African sub region has overtaken her.
The governor also said that the state government is commited to make the state, the hub of cocoa production in the West African sub-region once more.
According to him, the President will be in Ondo in July for the Cocoa Revolution Project, during which seedlings will be distributed to cocoa farmers, adding that the revolution starts with Ondo State.

This is what all state government should do instead of going to Abuja every 30 days. What kind of a son hangs on to his father to be getting N20k pocket money when he can go out and earn N150k on his own?

That's how all state government are in Nigeria. They look up to big daddy FG for tokens that can't sustain them for long instead of toiling and exploring their own resources.

Good question.
We explore oil to sell and not to process into crude and other raw material that can spur industrial growth and employment. The result is lost revenue and lost jobs. I hope cocoa doesn't suffer same fate.
