The crisis rocking the APC in Rivers is taking a new dimension as the former State Deputy Chairman Peter Odike is insisting that he remains the authentic acting chairman of the APC Rivers Chapter in the absence of Dr. Davies Ibiamu Ikanya the former state Chairman before the recent state congress that saw the emergence of the former chairman of Asari-Toru local government area, Ojukaye Flag-Amachree as the new state chairman. Saying there is a subsisting Court ruling nullifying the state congress that produced Ojukaye Flag Amachree which the current APC Rivers has not filed an appeal against. Therefore the previous Exco led by Dr. Davies Ikanya by law still stands. Again, since Davies Ikanya is currently out of the country on health ground, he remains the acting Chairman of the Party in Rivers State. He again said this has been communicated to the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Party and therefore his group would form the delegation that will attend the National Convention in a couple of days from now...!!! |
