Here we are going to be providing you with the brief highlights of some of the most important Nigerian Legislation enacted by either the States or the Federal Government of Nigeria that regulates property transactions as follows below:

1. Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria

2. Land Use Act

3. Property and Conveyancing Law

4. Land Instrument Registration Laws

5. Administration of Estates Laws

6. Registration of Titles Law

7. Illiterate Protection Laws

8. Wills Laws of the States of Nigeria

9. Town Planning Laws

10. Land Instruments Preparation Law

11. Stamp Duties Act

12. Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA)

Although, there are other legislations that deals with property law practice, such as the Environmental Laws for instance, where developments of properties are restricted because of fear of environmental hazards, and the several Gazettes of the various States in our country on property practice that deals with the designation of lands into urban and non-urban area, pursuant to the provision of Section 3 of the Land Use Act.

We hope to continue from here in our next post with the highlighted points on the Nigerian Legislation.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT: When someone shares something of value with you. You have a moral obligation to share it with others because someone in your friends list might just be needing the information.
