Job Description

The environmental officer is expected to assess environmental projects on the ground.She/he should evaluate the performance of projects and public awareness levelsShe/he should be able to monitor performance of staff on the groundShe/he is expected to identify and plan environmental related activitiesShe/he should have the ability to analyze environmental matters and write reportsShe/he is responsible for carrying out impact assessment for environment awareness projectsShe/he is in charge of mainstreaming environmental mattersShe/he liaises with the government, donors and other organizations with similar interestsShe/he is responsible for securing funding to sustain environmental projects and activitiesShe/he writes the budget and ensures that funds are allocated appropriately to respective projects.

Key Roles

The Candidate must be conversant with:Baseline study such as Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), post EIAEnvironmental trainingEnvironmental auditWaste management etc.

Qualifications

Candidates must possess a B.Sc or M.Sc in Environmental Management or related field.Must be a Professional Member of Nigeria Environmental Society or its Equivalent.

Experience:

2 - 5 years experience in a related job
