Well am not INEC chairman, if he decides to go with ballot boxes next year, who am I to say no? Don't u know that data is getting expensive. Electronic data requires data, and INEC doesn't wanna use 70% OF their budget on buying data.

Omo, see sense wey dey my head.

Jonathan was all shades of foolish. All of a sudden, they don't want to vote electronically. Imagine. They said Buhari was a dullard but clearly, the man is the master of the game. GEJ shouldn't have allowed that shit called electronic voting. The fulani cow knows he has performed below expectation and is he'll bent on looking for ways to remain in power. If not for anything...at least, his health insurance will be covered.

How much was the parking fee at Heathrow airport during the time buhari went on 4 months medical vacation? If Nigeria could pay £1000 pound aircraft parking fee daily why can't she provide such for election? Are you working for inec to even know how things work?

Itzpetersv:
Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Mahmood Yakubu, has said that there will be no use of the electronic voting system in the 2019 general elections.

The chairman of the electoral body disclosed this when he spoke at the International Press Institute world conference which took place in Abuja.

“There is no electronic balloting in 2019. In other words, there will be no electronic voting in the next general election but technology is already being used in many aspects of the processes. Electronic voting should be the ultimate step in the chain involving five inter-related processes,” he said

Some Nigerians have called for the use of electronic voting in the forthcoming election. They argue that electoral voting will prevent rigging and electoral malpractice during the election.

Cut that crap of heathrow parking fee. How does it relates to INEC using electroni data? To use electronic data requires years of planning, yo just can't wake up a year to election and expect electronic data to be used for a country as large and populated as Nigeria. They need to have test run it in at least 5 states or LG elections first before going presidential.
Re: "There Will Be No Electronic Voting In 2019"-mahmood Yakubu, INEC Chairman Says by somehow: 12:30pm On Jun 25, 2018
The few ways to rig election in this current system is either to buy votes, stop the inec staff at each polling boots from counting and computing the scores into the inec machines present at each boots.

Or you snatch the ballot boxes before its counted. Once counted and computed, cant ve rigged again.

Another way is stealing people's PVC to vote.

Bro, we need to understand things b4 reacting. There has not been electronic voting in Nigeria b4. We only have electronic registration and verification. Nogeria is not ready technologically to do electronic voting. However, it is good dt pple are putting there eyes on electrol matters in Nigeria.

Pls get your PVC. That's d only way to force these politicians to do the right thing. Good morning!
what do you mean by "Nigeria is technologically not ready for electronic voting ",even illiterates are now electronic machines like ATM n handsets all over the country today ,if illiteracy is the excuse then it means all our elections are just celebrated fraud because an illiterate person can never effectively participate in the electoral process with out been aided or influenced one way or the other, Karina state has just set an example why can't we build on it?, your kind of excuse is just a subtle way of supporting the government to rigging itself to power again, let the challenge be thrown to the engineers n technologists to build an electronic voting machine compatible with our challenges n let's see if they would fail instead of hiding behind sentiments to give lame excuses.

I share your concerns. Due to the fact that rigged elections bring the wrong persons to power. However, ai hv worked for INEC b4 as ad hoc staff. The current system is almost foolproof. Technically spking, the only way you could rig election with this system by paying pple to vote for u. Cnt go into details.

However, na naija we dey. Anything is possible. Dts why we need to all open our eyes.
what reasons could there possibly be for secrecy?

Just give it to the northerners, they are good at the game of politics....

They dam the consequences of any decision and act on it as much as it profits them, they are not liberal in nature so what you feel about their moves never bothers them.

The yorubas actually gave them this soft landing, a quick contrast between GEJ and PMB shows they are almost operating at same level. But the yorubas that contrl the press choose to echo one and mute the other - Thats all

Quick example - Chibok girls were alleged to be kidnapped on the day GEJ had his convention/party whatever - the yoruba press shouted and got angry for him not calling off his jamboree

On the other hand, PMB was celebrating/fighting (dont quote me, you saw the video they broke the mans head) with party members in last APC convention/Wresting bout while blood letting and sharing was ongoing in plateau state! The yorubas kept mute. ChannelsTV even deleted the link to the APC wrestling match at the convention arena....

Do i go on?
