First I sympathize with D'banj over the death of his son, no parent should have to bury their child.

To the subject, there is part of the law that says D'banj could get arrested for what is called criminally negligent manslaughter.


Criminally negligent manslaughter occurs where there is an omission to act when there is a duty to do so, or a failure to perform a duty owed, which leads to a death. An example could be leaving a child locked in a car on a hot day.

In the case of D'banj, leaving a child unattended while there is an open indoor pool.

Another example, which was a bit popular was the French dad who left his child unattended to go grocery shopping, the child went out the balcony, and was eventually saved by the now famous "spider man". The father of the child was eventually arrested for negligence.
