Enough of the blame games and pointing of fingers as no amount of this can resurrect the dead or bring the solution to the problem currently facing the country. It is obvious that the major problem of this country is not the killers,rather it is the structuring of the country that made it easy for people to kill and get away with it.

This leads me to the next point which centers around the security apparatus of country which is so dysfunctional. It is obvious that the present NPF needs a serious restructuring and to be more specific what Nigeria need to curtail the current spate in violence all over the federation is the creation of state and community police.

State and community policing has its advantage in that the security of lives and properties of the people are placed in the hands of the respective indigenes of the states and communities. The present police arrangement whereby the police force is centralized can no longer work. It is not possible to command security from the confines of a well polished office in abuja where everything is safe and well secured.

At the point,the national assembly should as a matter of urgency begin to make the necessary constitutional changes that will give way for each state to create their own police and secure the lives of their people. The federal government should allow the state government to be the chief security officers of the state not just by title but by action.

This is the only solution for ongoing crisis in Nigeria and until we take this step, the killings will continue to excalate in greater magnitude and if care is not taking, this might lead Nigeria to another civil war. Let's the federal government do the needful to avoid plunging the country to an uncontrollable crisis.
