The New Lagos State Traffic Laws and Penalties

The New Lagos State Traffic Laws and Penalties Lagos Traffic Law regime is designed to protect law abiding road users.
It is also designed to ensure that those who flout any of its stipulations are made to face the consequences of their action
so that they can be reformed and join the law abiding group. However, the traffic management regime is not designed to
empower officials of any agency of the State to molest, intimidate, extort or make a law breaker out of any Lagos
resident/stakeholder through the demanding and giving of bribes so as to avoid unsavory situations.

Lol

In a country where minimum wage is less than 20k.. simple fine is over 30k

The funny part is, law enforcer won't go after big man politicians that will break these laws. Cos He will simply call his superior and he will be released.

It is the poor people who are managing with their 300k kabu kabu just feed their family that will face these useless fines.

Well done. grin

These laws are rather inhuman and shows a disperate attempt at extortion than providing orderliness on Lagos Roads.

Otherwise how do you explain such strict penalities for civil offences as though they were criminal.

Execpt for forged documents and fake license plates, everything else here are plain finable and not jailable offences.

After all, the Federal Road Traffic Offense list is not half as this strict.

Again, the term 'Imbound' as used here leaves no explanation as to what becomes of the vehicle.

These are not realistic rules.

A simple fine for each offence committed and heavier fines for repeat offenders will do a better job of ensuring orderliness than this.

This shows how very insensitive and heartless our leaders are!
How can fines be more than the minimum wage?
This is pure extortion and wickedness!
Lots of motorists will be exploited by these inhumane fines.
Is this how develop countries operate?

The only thing these present crop of leaders under the same ruling political party are very good at is multiple taxation, fines, levies and extortion in various forms.

I LOVE MY COUNTRY BUT I'M ASHAMED OF OUR LEADERS!!!

The law enforcement agents, govt officials and "money-miss-road rich men with escorts flaunt this law most.

Would they punish the rich, famous and politically connected individuals as well.

Would they arrest someone like Davido should he commit any of the crime?
