THE REAL PROBLEM WITH NIGERIA - N. JOHNSON
Nigeria's problems is as gigantic as the country's size, many scholars limited the problems to be religion, tribalism, ethnicity and cumbersomeness of the geographical territory. But I have come to logical conclusion to limit the problems of Nigeria to be the problem of selfishness and greediness. The reason for these two vices as being the worst problem facing Nigeria is as follow;
- Religion - how often are religious leaders caring for their congregations and followers? Religious leaders live large while their followers look for just one square meal to survive. Even some of the members who are wealthy don't care for the needy, orphans and widows in their religion. This is a crystal evidence of proof that even those in the same religion don't care for one another.
- Tribalism - Some persons will agree with me that some persons love those who are from another tribe than those from their own tribes. People of the same tribe sometimes fight and hate themselves more than hating and fighting those who are not from the same tribe with them. Therefore, tribalism is just a little of our problem but not among our major problem.
- Ethnicity - This problem is similar to that of tribalism but this one have more emphasis than the former. People from the same ethnic group also have different problems within themselves which if is extended to other ethnic groups shouldn't get one aghast over such. For one who can hate his own brother can hate anyone so the problem of ethnicity is just an excuse, as people from the same ethnic group have hatred for themselves.
- The cumbersomeness of Nigeria's geographical area - Nigeria is not too big to rule, in as much as the resources needed to rule such a country is available.
Then what is the problem with Nigeria? To me the problem of Nigeria is not limited to but includes; our leaders are lackadaisical to lead, they lack political will, they hate taking responsibility of their failure, they are selfish and greedy.
To solve these problems we must as a people with positive mindset make a choice of leaders with high quality knowledge and wisdom, technocrat and selfless to take over the leadership positions in Nigeria. As citizens you must be ready to vote for the right choice, don't sell your vote, make a choice that will salvage this country Nigeria from the hands of kleptomaniac despotic leaders.

As much as bad leadership is a problem of Nigeria, as is most African countries, there is a much bigger problem.
