The advent of Mawlid has led to controversy among the Muslims. The prophet Muhammed made strict clearance regarding Bid'a and the like of it. Obviously we all know the position of Bid'a in Islam. So, the question here is, is Mawlid Nabiyy bid'a? Those who practise Mawlid claimed that it was a good innovation(bid'atul hassana). This claim has being extinguished owing to the word "kulu bid'atun dalaala"(every innovation is a misguidance). They went as far as changing the word 'kul(all)' to 'juz(some)' in their claims. If the prophet had wanted, he would had stated that good bidia is allowed. By the way, what do we termed as 'bad bidia' if not things that are wrong. Already evil is prohibited so, call it good or bad bidia, the prophet did not specify. Therefore all innovations are wrong-including Mawlid. However, to claim that Mawlid is good is like claiming that the prophet knew what was good and failed to establish it in the religion(nauzubillah). I am anticipating your replies. Assalamualaikum.

Wa 'alaikum salam warahmatullahi wabarakatuh!

Akhee, celebrating the birthday of the Prophet salallahu 'alayhi wasalam should have gone extinct if not all these so called alfas still transfering the virus to the next generation. What is wrong is clear! But when such wrong things brings local recognition with the old baba's manhaj and wealth nko?
O Allah! Enable us to see the Truth as Truth and give us the ability to follow it. And enable us to see the falsehood as false and give us the ability to refrain from it. Aameen

Na only in Nigeria it is celebrated?

This is old argument. You can't force anyone to do your bidding. There are many topics on mawlid here and it is irrelevant to keep arguing over it every yr. No one forces you do join them. No muslim has the right to tell another muslim not to be happy at the birth of the prophet (saw).

Sahaba have demonstrated a simple innocent gathering of joyous day at nabi indicating there is absolutely nothing wrong with coming together and be happy at the birth anniversary of of Muhammad (saw).

If you are not invited simply ignore. If you go uninvited, and you are shouting bidah, honestly they need bundle you out. There is nothing wrong with baba manhaj.

They knew Islam far better than you.

It does not matter if it is celebrated in Nigeria or elsewhere. It is not traceable to the Prophet and any of his companions. And that is our judgement. Bid'ia is Bid'ia anywhere in the world. When was the Prophet's date of Birth? or do mean his date of death? And i see no reason 'celebrating' his birth like the Christmas when we neglect what he lived his life for.

We will keep speaking against it yearly and monthly if possible!

And boda Plumber! We are not here to win or lose! We are here to make plain what is explained in our books. Ask Abu-Ibeji.
