In Nigeria, we deserve our leaders. It still very much pains me to see how ones conscience and conviction can be swayed by a meager amount like #3000 as has happened in Ekiti.
I am not bothered much by the choice of Fayemi, as I am not sure who would have been better between him and Fayose's choice. This Fayemi has been governor before. And here in lies my concern. The seeming fact that we lack credible options in our politics. This is why I am beginning to think Buhari will be here beyond 2019 - or where is the credible alternative!?
Somebody's comment on the outcome of this election though not very palatable is however filled with meaning. He reasoned; 'so I can buy an Ekiti lady for four years for just #3000.'

In a way, I don't blame anyone who sold their conscience for N3000. Whoever gets elected, the people are screwed anyway. So better get N3000 than get nothing at all
