Homosexuality shouldn't even be mentioned along with all of this nonsense.

The key word is "victim" in any given situation. The law is there to protect people; not to make life hard. If life gets hard for someone because a law protects someone else, that's bearable collateral damage. But if you're simply making things difficult for someone without the justification of a life saved, then the law is the antagonist; and it should be repealed.
