There are countless people like Ogunlesi from Nigeria who are doing well all over the world. The host countries, especially England and America know this, but it's not in their nature to give a black man credit for positive things. Any black man being celebrated as this man, definitely took the initiative and broke the glass ceiling without any fear.

He is from my state but he is a silly man. Hardly can one find any reasonable investment of his in Nigeria save the Ruff n Tumble reportedly owned by his wife. I will always admire Dangote, Adenuga and the likes.

By the way, Lagos state should approach him on the proposed Lekki Airport.

He runs a private equity fund which invests people's money. If I run one of ARM's funds as a fund manager and invest the funds in an airport do I own the airport, no. I am the manager investing the funds on behalf of my investors big difference.

I don't get what tax purposes you are talking about. The fund was started by Credit Suisse and General Electric as a joint venture and he was seconded as CEO of the fund from Credit Suisse where he was a banker.

This correction is understood. Still and all, it is safe to say that Mr. Ogunlesi rose to his pole position in that outfit by virtue of his outstanding qualifications, and his cumulative experience, but NOT due to any "family connections" of the sort that are the norm in Nigeria, for example. In short, Ogunlesi remains the best man for his current job, despite the presence of highly competitive colleagues who would unseat Ogunlesi in a heartbeat, if they could.
