Nothing really challenges anyone so much as being in a leadership position. The worst fear at this stage is fear of failure. As a leader of a team, you are required to take decisions from a whole lot of opinion, suggestions and ideas. Your ability to take he right or wrong decision is what makes or mars your position.

As a team leader, there are certain incentives you must deploy if you must carry at least 80% of your team along. Discussed below are strategies you could take to lead your team well.

Assign Responsibilities
This is an essential part of being a leader, but it is often overlooked. People crave a clear understanding of what is expected of them, especially employees who are new to the company. To deal with this, you must be sure to give a clear cut detail of what each person should do and what is expected.

Understand that You mustn't know everything
The most underappreciated aspect of being a leader is that you don’t have to know it all. This should be a relief. The more comfortable you are relying on others and bolstering their areas of expertise, the stronger more and more potent your team will be. Deploy the services of employees from different areas of knowledge, that a better relief strategy.

Contribute meaningfully to team work
Running an efficient business requires that your team is able to effectively and confidently solve daily problems that inevitably arise. The greatest gift you can give them is to make it clear you are available. Contribute the best you can and support where necessary.

Provoke insight with open ended questions
It’s a common instinct to simply tell team members what to do -- after all, isn’t that what you’re getting paid for? But don’t underestimate the value of inquiring instead of demanding. By asking open-ended questions, you empower your team to improve existing practices and create innovative solutions.
