The 2018/2019 season is barely three weeks away. Transfers are going almost smoothly, players are moving from new to old clubs in search of; new challenges and bigger wages. The ones surplus to requirement aren't left out.
The preseason has kicked off in full swing already, new players and academy players have been given the platform to shine; some academy players already have given their coaches headaches; "should I send him on loan, will he be the revelation of the new season?". Unfortunately the bulk of players who participated in the world cup knockout rounds are still yet to join their respective clubs because of the exertions of the world cup. This has made it very difficult for the coaches to build an understanding between the old lads and the new signings on the field of play. Most of the players who participated in the semis are almost certain to miss the first and even the second week of matches.
Mourinho, since inception as a football manager has always been a go-getter who is always upbeat about his team's chances of having a trophy haul. That is a far cry from the in coming season's. The Man utd's gaffer mood is totally dampened, doesn't exude confidence and lacking believe. He is either complaining of fatigue, unavailability of his "world cup" players, injuries or insufficient signings. His mood is a source of concern for fans, and football lovers alike. Has the "whining one" sensed failure from far away U.S? Why does he keep sounding like he has conceded defeat in the pursuit of the EPL title before a kick of the ball?
Manchester city and Tottenham "9" (talk sport) both had the most players in the semis. Manchester united "8" (talk sport) came a close second. But I've not heard Pep and Poch complain so much about fatigue. Mourinho has even had the luxury of making Pogba the most expensive signing in the EPL and Sanchez the highest paid player in the league. Yet he says he hasn't been backed in the market. Even if other managers are whining, José shouldn't join the queue
