Many years ago, Duncan Mighty Okechukwu came into the Nigerian music scene with his 22-track project ‘Koliwater’. Additionally, his follow-up singles ‘Port Harcourt son’ and ‘Obianuju’ did tremendously well across the country. After that period, for him, it has been failed singles that never got to rock the airwaves and speakers.

Although in his hometown of Port Harcourt, the man is still regarded as the ‘Port Harcourt first son’ and his iconic status still remains as intact as it can ever be. Far East at Ariaria market in Aba, Abia State, his statue stands tall and erect, glazed in shiny apparel – a sign to show even neighboring Aba holds the ‘Obianuju’ crooner in high esteem.

Years later, Duncan Mighty left Port Harcourt with his construction and oil firms at stake. It was at that period we came across different clips and posts on social media linking him to Wizkid.

Upon release, Fake love was received as the genre-breaking, Nigerian-favorite pop/Rnb breakthrough that music fans never thought Duncan Mighty could score, especially with Wizkid as a featured artist. Though, the 2006 – 2010 era was based on an oddly-tight flavored pop sound. That song reshaped Eze Pitakwa’s music career

Listening again, ‘Fake love’ really boasted of serene moments and ease with which the two icons scored the melody. The Killertunes production has two notes and a continuous ballad that conjured the moment.

Now, Duncan is just himself, which does not necessarily mean he was less of himself before ‘Fake love’. Though, the Starboy montage and logo appearing on the visuals of ‘Fake love’ was part of the Duncan public identity and even more. These days, Duncan is living his best life with him being the most featured artist right now. ‘Fake love’ has gone on to become one of the most covered songs both at home and abroad.

Duncan boasts of collaborations with industry big brands such as Tiwa Savage, Reekado Banks, Masterkraft, DJ Xclusive, Ceeza Milli, Ugo Buzz, Bracket and B-Red. Recently, he was pictured in the studio with Davido and Peruzzi. Other forthcoming and confirmed collaborations are with Mr. 2kay and Idahams and a host of other Port Harcourt artists.
