I feel so pained knowing that Ontario wouldn't select someone with high CRS score. I'm now wondering where the French advantage lies when one does not have an occupation that is in demand. Dear seniors, what else can one do aside waiting for FSW draws after having CLB 7 in French.

Once FSW start, 487 is almost guaranteed on the 1st or 2nd draw, depending on draw size. Hopefully birthday is still a while away.

Congrats to him....great results……20 points are possible from spouse if she can get CLB 9 across LRWS. Does your friend already have 2 degrees or a Masters?

Until FSW draws restart, he may want to consider French PNPs e.g. OINP just had a French Speakers’ draw 2 days ago for CRS between 461 and 467. He may want to explore other provinces too while waiting for FSW draws to resume.

I wrote TEF on 10th July 2021.Though I’m expecting results anytime from now.However,a friend told me tonight that results won’t be out till September as they are on break in France.

Can anyone please confirm this information?.

Yes, it is true that they are on break. I wrote mine 9th July and also await the results late August by God's grace.

It's better to aim for a lower score in reading or listening than in writing or speaking. For example, I got 9 in reading and Knew fully well that I got all the answers correctly. If I wanted to reduce my score to 7.5, all I had to do was purposely fail about 5 questions. Just aim for 7.5 in reading or listening competence and you can lose a lot of marks. Calculate this with the CRS calculator before trying it sha.

You can download TCF textbooks online using google search. There are many helpful websites for TCF exam practice also. Getting a tutor to correct your errors and your speaking would also be great. I spent about 3 months preparing for the exam with a brilliant tutor in Abuja. He was only used to TEF and I was his first ever TCF student but this man really helped me with EE & EO and always corrected my mistakes.

This journey has been a very funny one. Last week I had to write IELTS again because I wrote IELTS in 2019 and it just expired. I never even thought I would have to write IELTS again based on expiration of result. Anyway, the journey continues.
I received my result yesterday and with this my score + TCF canada exam has increased from 500 to 506. It's just very annoying that people with higher scores don't get chosen for Ontario PNP but I shall remain hopeful

You can try TEF again...remember it's a test of your French knowledge...but if you feel like the TEF format isn't for you, then you can try TCF. It's just that you'll have to accustom yourself to the TCF format which will require at least 2 months of good preparation. The tutor is based in Abuja...is that where you're based?
