Guys, I have a question.

What did you choose for language while creating your profile? Only English or Both? Does it have anything to do with one's TEF result? If not, how would CIC actually authenticate this claim?

Me, I don't want to be called for any interview, biko.
etrange:

I'm asking cause of my B1. Hope it won't contradict the response.

I think you can safely answer BOTH....not sure what proficiency your B1 is in but i'm not sure it matters.

Hello All,

I started my TEF journey about 2 weeks ago. I knew practically no french word before i began. I have been trying to build up... I have been using Duolingo, Roseta and Rocket. I also try to watch French channels , french cartoons i.e Peppa pig and listen to French radio stations. I dont still understand all what they are saying in those programs.

I am beginning to wonder if watching and listening to French programs are effective at this stage. I am currently on holiday and i study for an average of 3 hours daily. I have contacted a French tutor who will resume on the 11th of January. She will tutor me for 2 hours, 3 times a week.

Do you think with all these i would be able to have B2 across board in June?

I am abit worried with my inability to understand a few sentences although i can pick out some words after 2 week of study. Or am i being too ambitious?

Jan to Jun for B2 is totally doable with dedication, hard work and grace.

Private tutor works....just ensure that he or she is aware of the TEF exam format....link here.

Came across really solid content recently. Search for "brut" on YouTube or follow @brutofficiel on Twitter.

Contains bite sized short videos roughly 3, 4 mins long across a wide range of topics....with subtitles too!

Highly recommended!

But why does it take this long?

Its incredible.
The TEF manual says results are sent back to the Test Centre "2-4 weeks" after receipt of the papers...from the Test Centre.
Perhaps AF Lagos didn't send off the scripts immediately?

But why does it take this long?

Nice one.

When did you get this? Have they resumed for the year? Also, do you know if certs are out for those that wrote in October (results out in December)?

I might need to go there tomorrow.

They resume for the year on the 14th or classes start on the 14th, which one? I spoke with the front desk on phone yesterday and she said someone will attend to me today.

As regards your question, your answer is the same as the ones given to every other person that has asked the same question up there. In summary, it's possible but literally up to you. Your input (time, resources, dedication) determines your output.

You're lucky dad is around to practice with.

Good morning everyone, and bonne et heureuse annee (i could not get the accent on my laptop)

Please, where and how can one get past questions for TEF? I know there a lot of preparatory materials out there, but is it possible to lay hands on actual past questions like we have for IELTS?

Merci beaucoup!

The accents would likely fetch you a ban. Lol

You're in which state?

Hi everyone, Permit to modestly introduce myself. I am Joshua, you probably know,

I will like to say here that ever since I posted anything at all on this page I really have had people call me and those whom we have met will reckon that am not just here for the business.

I am a french enthousiaste (100%) and there is nothing I love to do better, at least for now, than teaching the language.

I must confess I am not very conversant with using Nairaland threads so I just come here once a while to post advert (truth be told it was one of my students who actually informed me of this grate community)

So when I said that to get to a B2 level via a private tutor is very very Slim (unless the student already has a B1 level) I didn't say it because I wanted people to flood my french school but I just wanted to be truthful.

Well, I believe your stance is more opinionated than factual. I appreciate your point as could be seen in the post I made in response. However, people have done it before. Some other French teachers on the forum might also have different opinions. But this is not to undermine your help/opinion, just a contribution from a fellow enthusiast. Your help is highly appreciated and I pray you to stick around.
