SWEP in Bells University of Technology, Ota is a mandatory programme of the University for a prolonged and continuous period during the long holiday, usually 3months. It is designed to expose students to the world of work outside their campus academic activities as well as prepare them for the mandatory Students’ Industrial Work Experience Scheme (SIWES)
SWEP as practiced in various Universities is programed to enable students integrate the theoretical academic curricula with real-life working experience and Industrial Practices in preparation for either entrepreneurial or employed labour after graduation.
Being a university of Technology and living with such motto, keynotes that the environment is more suitable technologically for such innovative schemes in real work situations and tends to contributes to improving the quality of technical skills generally available in community because in its core the University has instructional, research and developmental laboratories and workshops for effective instructions, research and entrepreneurship training.
Student Work Experience Programme (SWEP) is very innovative and beneficial for both personal and professional growth, it is fun and will serve as a channel for learning new things that have broadened mindset of many student and staff involved regarding choice of career after school or in retirement
