Re: Breaking: Four-storey Building Collapses In Abuja by AngelicBeing: 2:56pm On Aug 17, 2018
It could be as a result of several reasons, cutting corners, structural problems, Oluwole Engineer, fake and substandard materials, and not following due process, best practices etc sad

Its a shame that Abuja doesn't have an emergency service the type you see in Lagos.

LRU in Lagos is the best emergency response in Nigeria

This is what happens in a nation where construction specifications, procedures and method of construction is been taken for granted. This is a warning to those who hire quack engineers to execute their jobs

And there is FCDA always looking for whom to milk.
The owner and "Engineer" that built that house has to be questioned.

Fake things everywhere now adays. My grandpas 4 flats built in the 70s are still intact, Someone who built his own recently had licking bathroom walls, toilet bowl and pipes bursting anyhow, door handle falling off like dominos. So are we going backwards in this nation or what ? If you want to do business do with all integrity please. Greed will not finish us in this land !

I blame SON, i blame the Nigerian government, i blame building owners that will see a qualified Engineer and intead give their buildings to quacks all in the name of saving just 50000 and compromise on quality. I will say this once again, until Nigerians start seeing the importance of engaging the rights professionals in building their houses there will still be lots of building collapse. Why will a building collapse when there is no earthquake? Quality is very cheap and this is a good example.

it's a stone thrown from my office, any time I pass by I was always of the opinion that the structure is not well design, the columns and beams were too thin for the column to column spacing so I wasn't surprised
