Then who gave them the approval, is it not same government? Or do you give approval today and come to demolish tomorrow, without compensation, and moreover he has C of O to show for it.

A user @obembet, on popular Nigerian forum, Nairaland, has given her opinion concerning the popular singer, Yinka Ayefele's building demolition, last weekend.

On Sunday 19th August, 2018, the Oyo State government had taken an action to demolish Yinka Ayelefele's Music House after serving the media house a demolition notice weeks earlier.

The demolition of the N800 million building sparked reactions across the country and a lot of Nigerians are of the opinion that the government had gone way to far in their 'witch-hunting' escapade.

However, the user on the forum had a different view and wants Nigerian to think twice before getting emotional over the demolition. According to @obembet, Yinka Ayefele 'excos' demolition won't be the first in Oyo State.

She added that there was even a demolition that was supported by Yinka Ayefele's Fresh FM radio station.

Please, identify yourself.
Ajimobi came to that station and he said people came to him during his first term that he should demolish the place because Ayefele is not on their side, he did not say because the station is in a wrong place.
The Idiape basorun road you talked about is still under construction and you cant compare it with the road that has been constructed already and some parts of it was demolished during that road construction.
Above all, Oyo govt has denied that they are not even the one who demolished it.

What a senseless post.

I was expecting to see reasons and why the demolition CA be justified but the op was only beating about the bush talking nonsense like a lunatic.

Op should have at least listed one or two reasons why the structure should be pulled down but making rubbish comparison f citing other demolished places is not genuine enough

Btw, constituted ashiweyrey already said he had been asked to demolish the place for political reasons b4

That Ayefele's building is an illegal structure. The OYSG's demolition exercise was not on Ayefele's building alone. Ayefele was also given 1 year, 3 days notice.

We all should endeavour to do what is right at all times.

While this article does not defend the action of the government or state a cogent reason why the building was demolised but the way the public l behaved leaves so much to be desired. Why can't we leave Ayefele to sought out the problem with the government. Why are we all ganging up and making so much noise about it. Is it because of his popularity, his disability or the money. He has so many channels available to him to seek redress instead of every body just sleep facing the same direction. Some even went to town to start damaging properties because of one man. Do we do this for every house that have been demolised ? or for every disable person. This behaviour is babaric and we need to stop it if we want to develop. Let the government and Ayefele sought this out themselves

WHO IS THE FOOL THAT PUT THIS TOGETHER?

Ajimobi AKA Mr. Greedy PIG did not use common sense before authorizing this despicable move. There are too many better ways to make such a move without creating any mess or negative impact. Tinubu of the APC wouldn't have operated carelessly like this.

The building is way too bigger than Ayefele...But Ajomobi's brain is too tiny to understand this simple fact....And this why Folks like Tinubu will forever be relevant.
This is not the right way any government should operate.

This is also one of the reasons why folks from Ibadan will forever be nothing but mostly bus conductors; these people have no idea how to lift each other up. The only thing they clearly know how to do is chop Amala and tear each other apart....And this is why Bola Ige isn't here today.
Ibadan will be nothing without the Ijebus, the ondos, the Igbos and the hausas.

Useless group of people!

Re: Yinka Ayefele's Building Demolition: Read This Before You Get Emotional by Ollawilliam: 5:20pm On Aug 20, 2018
Should the demolition be carried out by force, then the Government ought to have settled Ayefele. He obtained all necessary paper work before building.

Ibadan is a dirty city full of educated illiterates, the whole state did not have a master plan until recently. Any plots of land bought by people before OYO state unleashed a master plan breaks no single town planning law. This is the reason why OYO must compensate every building marked for demolition. What all these home owners need to do is to head to high court for these elements of illiteracy looming in Nigeria to relax.

Wait but who gave him the right to build in that spot years ago? Isn't it the government? If they did, then he has a right to compensation.

I said it here a few days ago. the road in front of the music house was bent so the music house won't be demolished!!! is yinka better than the common men whose houses were demolished to accommodate the road while the road was altered to accommodate yinka's building?

anyone that has driven past that road at least twice will agree with me honestly that the building should have gone years back!!!
