NO MESSI IN UEFA PLAYER OF THE YEAR AWARD TOP THREE FINALISTS
UEFA has announced the three finalists for the 2017/18 UEFA Men’s Player of the Year award.

Juventus new signing Cristiano Ronaldo, Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modrić and Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah are the three last men standing, as selected by coaches and journalists.

The winner of the prestigious award will be named – along with the UEFA Women’s Player of the Year and UEFA Champions League positional award winners – during the group stage draw in Monaco on Thursday 30 August. The UEFA Europa League Player of the Season will be announced the following day.

MANCHESTER UNITED DENIES CONTACTING ZINEDINE ZIDANE TO REPLACE MOURINHO
Manchester United have denied contacting Zinedine Zidane to replace Jose Mourinho as their manager.

Bookmakers have installed Mourinho as favourite to become the first Premier League boss to be sacked this season, following his team’s 3-2 defeat at Brighton.

It comes amid speculation that former Real Madrid coach Zidane, is interested in succeeding Mourinho, three months after winning a hat-trick of Champions League titles and leaving the Bernabeu.

AFTER KEVIN DE BRUYNE, MANCHESTER CITY SUFFER ANOTHER INJURY BLOW
Manchester City’s goalkeeper, Claudio Bravo has suffered a rupture in the tendon of his left foot, the club confirmed on Tuesday.

Bravo, who joined the club two seasons ago from Barcelona, will fly to Barcelona for further tests on Thursday.

MINO RAIOLA LASHES OUT AT PAUL SCHOLES, OTHER POGBA CRITICS ON TWITTER
Paul Pogba’s agent, Mino Raiola has hit back at Paul Scholes after the former Manchester United midfielder was critical of Pogba’s performance in the loss at Brighton.

Raiola, posting on Twitter on Tuesday morning, appeared to joke that he would have “sleepless nights” trying to find Pogba a new club.

There has been speculation Raiola has already lined up a move to Barcelona for Pogba after a breakdown in his relationship with United manager Jose Mourinho.

EDEN HAZARD TAKES FINAL DECISION ON REAL MADRID MOVE AFTER ARSENAL WIN
Chelsea star, Eden Hazard, has said he will not leave the club this summer because they won’t be able to sign a replacement.
Hazard hinted that his time at Chelsea could be coming to an end after the World Cup when he said he wanted to “discover something different,” amid rumours of a move to Real Madrid. But the 27-year-old has now pledged commitment to Chelsea for the foreseeable future.
“Everybody knows what I have said after the World Cup. But I’m happy here,” he told RMC Sport after the 3-2 win over Arsenal.
