Enuguukwu kills snakes. They are part of the 30 percent. I am from Alor and we worship snakes. We pet them. What do u know?

I only knew it as an Idemili thing. We don't kill pythons around that area. We've caught a few in our compound in the village and used long sticks to relocate them to the bush. It's an easy injunction to follow because the pythons are not particularly harmful. But if I saw a venomous snake whose venom could kill me, no mad tradition would ever stop me from squashing its head.

I'm from nneni in anambra and we don't kill python too. Killing the animal is a very big taboo according to our tradition.

I'm from Enugwu Ukwu and we don't kill python in my home town, they believe it's harmless and I've never heard that a python harmed someone.

Actually almost the whole of Idemili; Obosi, Alor, Ogidi, Ojoto, Uke, Ideani, Nnokwa, Awka etiti etc forbids harm upon any python.

I am from Orsumoghu in Ihiala Anambra state, we too don't kill Python. During one Christmas festival like that, my cousin from Lagos killed a Python and nobody knew. After travelling he kept on having troubling dreams about the Python he killed and physical attacks when he wakes up. The bad dreams and attackes stopped when he confided in his parents, they travelled and buried an empty casket cooked and merried the same way we bury humans.

In my Mums Village "Mbosi" they don't kill bush meat, particularly giant rat (Ewi). The day we caught one in our compound my Mum warned us not to cook it with her pot or even eat it. But my sisters prepared it using our pot, ignotingbour mothers warning (we called it fetish and none sense). After consuming it nothing happened to we the male but my sisters mouth were disfigured and their tongue was like that of someone that drank hot water. Few days later it affected my mum after using that same pot to prepare another dish.

I don't know what to believe anymore, but our old tradition should be respected.

I served in awka etí tí and they don't kill snakes there too
