Do you know that the versions of Google's Android operating system, which comes with a variety of Google applications, are codenamed after foods and delicacies, in alphabetical order?

The first phone to run on the Android OS was the HTC Dream which was launched on 22 October 2008. Google's own-brand Android phone, the HTC-made Nexus One, was launched in the US on 5 January 2010.

Unlike the iPhone, each Android device manufacturer can overlay its own user interface features, which means the same version of the OS may not function identically in different devices. In addition, OS versions are rolled out at different times, and not all Android devices qualify to receive new updates.
