$1 in 2012 is equivalent of what amount in 2018?
$1 in 2012 is equivalent to 30cent in 2016.

from 100m in 2014 when we had oil boom with $393b as oil proceed to 87m in 2016 when oil was selling at $30.
And buhari was able to pull out 13m people from poverty in the period of recession.
The latest record of 2018 will amazed you.this is why the jobless aggressive lazy idiotic pigs of Biafra terrorist are illiterate.
In 2012 dollars was 160, in 2016 it was 450.
That means nobody is poor now.
If you are to compare and contrast,
Nigerians were getting $3 as of 2016.
If you compare 2012 value to 2016, that means, in 2012 Nigerians were living with 30cent.

Bogus analysis.

Lifeless OLODO and Dumbo, I ask how does devaluing the naira bring down the value of dollars. Switching lanes is going to help you here.

Idiots $1 in 1914 is not same as $1 in 2018. Go and argue with your ancestors.

13m innocent people who were seriously affected by the 30tr naira mismanage by ineffectual buffoon are out of serious poverty.
From 100m to 87m.

That's what we should avoid now; passing blames. How do we get Nigerians back to work?

That is the point successive governments have failed to distribute wealth fairly. pMB government had brought a programme designed to distribute wealth to the most vulnerable of the society. But for us to appreciate where we are going we must know where we are coming from.

The more we wait, the more people fall into poverty. There should be concerted programmes; known to Nigerians. We know we made mistakes in the past, that's no longer the issue. Let us recover what is left and grow from there

Stop arguing blindly bro, the devaluation of the naira further strengthens the dollar. So 1$ in 2012 is an equivalent of 35-40 cent to the naira.
35 cent is equivalent to 160# now.
Your arguments of 1$-3$ will only be reasonable if Naira appreciate against the dollar and not the reverse.

Absolutely NO. You're the one that brought about the FX dichotomy which led to your 1$-3$ gaffe.

I'm talking in terms of value not figures. In real value, $1 in 2012 is just as valuable as a $3 in 2018.

Sorry the answer is ABSOLUTELY NO. 1$=160# in 2012 will give you the same value of 1$=~400 in 2018.

NB: I thought your question was 1$-1$.

In 2012 $1 = N120

in 2018 $1 = N400.

So N120 in 2012 is as valuable as N400 in 2018. No?

Let's assume Breadsellers are accepting dollar notes.

Whereas $1 would get me a loaf of sliced bread that's sold at N120, in 2012, I'd need $3 to get this same bread in 2018.

Good Example. Now N120 x 3 = N360. You'll need 360naira (< 1$ in 2018 which is approx. N400 and not 3$ {(3xN400) = N1200.}

Smart dude but not so smart. As at 2012, BBC was evaluating based on a worthless dollar. Nigeria just as the rest of the world was still in depression as at 2012.

Check the chart below. Dollar as at 2012 was about 40% less what it is in 2018.

Lol, dude you're bringing unrelated variables into the equation. You keep changing narratives like a chameleon.
The argument is Dollar to Naira centered, now no matter the devaluation of the dollar, it value relative to the naira is 1$ to ~N400 (@ the moment). That's why FX rate is dynamic, when their is devaluation of the dollar, the naira appreciate against it (cetri paribus) and vice versa.
