There should be a law making this Pension thing optional. How can someone work for 35 years and retire, to pay his/her pension becomes a problem, his own money oooo that was deducted. The funny part is some companies do not even remit it to the PFA.

In Abia State, retirees have been calculating the number of months (running in years) their pension have not been paid

It's your responsibility to make sure your company remits your benefits.

It shouldn't be optional, what should be done is for government and its agencies involved in pension matters to pay the pension to these people, I know families that used their pension money to establish reasonable projects, if it was optional, they wouldn't have embarked on such financial project.

When I see folks like you, all I do is cheesy cheesy cheesy

So that is what you deduced from that link you posted? You took one opinion out if 7 and probably the most uninformed of all and ran to massage your bitterness with it? What do you think the OP meant by this?

According to the report, FGN Bonds has the highest weight percentage of 49.08% of the total pension fund assets and closely followed by treasury bills with 20.76% weight

Is the government borrowing not yielding returns for the fund? How do you think govts worldwide operate?

Why do you revel in sadness, gloom, bitterness and negativity everyday of your life simply because of an election loss of 3 years ago? Why?

Don't mind that hateful and bitter illiterate pls. Even if you read the link he posted, you'll understand better. Every country on Earth borrows money from it's economy through issuance of bonds and treasury bills and that's what the FG has been doing since 1960 and these yield profits for the pension fund and it's contributors e.g me. I receive monthly statements that show how much has accrued to my RSA from these investments

The OP even explained the percentage of govt bonds and treasury bills the pension fund has.

All govts all over the world operate on debt because govt isn't a business that makes profits. The FG must take these debts because it's also the means to operate whatever monetary policies they institute.

Relax abeg
