I was driving out from GRA on my way to work early this morning in Benin city when I came across this accident scene. The taxi driver told me that he was entering second east circular from Ekiosa axis of sakponba road by EDPA when this tipper lorry coming from the ring road axis of the same road, tried to avoid a commercial, bus and ran into his Audi 80 car with reg no. AH 742 LEH. The lorry driver seems to have lost control. Thank God no life was lost.

My people we just entered the "ember ember" months, a period when everybody seems to be more in a hurry than every other period of the year. Please let's drive with care, avoid drink driving, put our vehicles in motorable conditions and always be safety conscious.

Majority of the cars plying Nigerian roads are not road Worthy. Yet the government is bragging about establishing some computerized road worthiness facility... Meanwhile, most of these cars have been certified road Worthy.

MOST Benin drivers are always in a hurry, infact most Nigerian drivers are always in a hurry.
Accidents like this one have been happening since January.
Let's stop hyping this “ember months” of a thing and thank God we are still alive to even witness another end of the year.

These lorry drivers are the real untouchables,they cause accidents and still walk away alive while many die. I wonder how they do it.
You hardly see accidents involving lorries and tankers where the driver died.

The State Government has to take drastic action about the reckless way commercial bus drivers drive on that axis of Benin City. The bus drivers are the major causes of accidents in that road. They don't obey the traffic light at all they zoom pass the 3 traffic lights on the road without considering other road users. I have had close shaves too at this junction because a bus driver ran the red light
