In South Africa, the debate on land reform began in Parliament. The ruling ANC party has announced that it wants to amend the Constitution to include the principle of expropriation of farmers without compensation. Before being debated by the members themselves, a parliamentary committee hears about thirty major organizations in the country.
Among them, the main farmers' unions, financial organizations or academics testify until Friday. On this first day, the organizations expressed their different opinions and asked the government for clarification.
