So Oga, what are you saying? For me restructuring means devolution of everything from the so called centre to the state, while the centre monitors and regulate how policies of govt are implemented. Is that too hard to understand?

If the sinners don't make move to repent is it the saints that should make move to sin

Saying this means he is obviously against restructuring ( whatever that means to the politicians)

Atiku looted monies from Nigeria and used his 4th wife who lives in USA to launder them.

This is over 40 million dollars which the united states government traced and arrested her on money laundry charges. She was sentenced to jail in the USA and ever since then, Atiku has refused to visit USA because he knows that he would be arrested right from the airport.

This is one of many.

If Buhari will not sign the new electoral Bill into law, is it restructuring bill he will sign

State police and resource control are inevitable.

The new electoral bill was not well worded and he has pointed out why he will not sign until they get it right.

Words are powerful and the slightest wrong wording would give it a totally different meaning from what was intended.

The VP has already set up a committee to look into state policing and decentralization of power in the police.

This is not news.

smiley , truth be told, atiku should explain what his restructuring is all about, (is it removing items out of exclusive list, is it state police, is it regional resource control, is it return to regional government and collapse of states to form region) he should let us know how he plans on achieving this with or without the legislature. the last time Mr atiku was in government with his Fulani crony El rufai of BPE, they both restructured all of our asset, and money making ventures to the pocket of few. they even restructured peoples brain that government don't have business doing business. yet Germany own shares in Benz, Qatar has shares in Porsche and has an airline, Dubai and UAE owns hotels and airline
Who even told you At.ku understands what is restructuring.
He is only using the word to gain sympathy from the southerners.

Oga, you are the one doing what you are accusing falana of. He made a valid point that, Nigeria is over due for restructuring. But that restructuring on its own will not guarantee peace and development if the issue of wealth redistribution is not addressed at the same time.

His view is in consonance with what the vice president had said, when he opined that the kind of restructuring that will add the needed value is not that of a mere geographical adjustment or restructuring. but the one that will deepen good governance by way of wealth redistribution and devolution of certain powers to other federating units.

And I agree with them because, if you even say today, let all region develop with their resources at their pace, you will still see Niger delta leaders highjacking and looting their commonwealth. Same will be applicable in almost all the regions. So let's be wise and not just swallow all the rhetorics of these politicians who are hunting for votes in the coming election.

After all, if Atiku was serious with the debate he dabbled into, he could have supported his view with practical approach he took to address the issue when he was in power. You had how osibanjo meticulously enumerated practical and evidencial steps he took to address restructuring when he was the Attorney General of Lagos state, even several cases he won at the supreme court. Interestingly, those cases were against Obasanjo/Atiku regime. Did you hear from Atiku that time condemning the actions of his government then to show he ever meant anything about what he is preaching today?

People like Atiku are only talking about restructuring just to win election and nothing else. Ask him about creation of equal numbers of States between the south and north and see how he will quickly jettison the idea.

Restructuring is not an ending activity. We will always continue to thinker with our structure as we evolve. For us to progress, we need sincere, knowledgeable and patriotic political leadership across board. Without changing the crooked mindset of our current crop of political elites, we can never progress irrespective of the political structure that we adopt.

Fear for CHANGE is real.

Even SAN Falani don't understand what restructure mean.

Some people see restructure like free oil money and greed they enjoying

Restructure means CHANGE, REFORM, DEVOLUTION OF POWER, STATE POLICE etc.

The only thing restructure is trying to do is to bring all these problems in one platform.
Re: Falana Replies Atiku On Restructuring by Brunosamel(m): 7:19pm On Sep 05, 2018
Restructuring and devolution of powers will
certainly not provide all the answers to our
developmental challenges; it will help to
reposition our mindset as we generate new ideas and initiatives that would make our unionworthwhile. The talk to have the country restructured means that Nigerians are agreed on our unity in diversity; but that we should strengthen our structures to make the union more functional based on our comparative advantages.

Well worded my foot!

Buhari is afraid of the part of the bill that says card readers and the data therein will be admissible in the tribunals/courts. That's why he is not signing the bill. That provision alone will curb electoral malpractices significantly.

What about resource control? Why can't Ondo mine its surplus bitumen deposits and pay a percentage to the centre?
