If you think I am too pessimistic, I will tell you that growing up, we never heard anyone use religiously derogatory words to describe Muslims. And this was in a majority Christian area. You can also look at christian countries and see that most are far more developed than islamic countries with more human rights, better treatment of people etc. This is not because of religion but because of peoples hard work.

Muslims invaded christian lands too. Syria used to be christian as was Egypt. Turkey was actually Eastern Rome.
