*TOPIC: YOUR CALLING IS A WEAPON*
Jeremiah 1:4-19

*Whether you obey or you disobey the call, a crisis is going to come. When you obey the call of God, the devil fights because it is in the calling that you are a threat to the devil, not in salvation alone.* You are not a threat to the devil if you are born-again alone. There are many people born-again today that the devil doesn’t bother about because they are not serious with their calling. *The weapons that can damage the devil are in your calling!*

*In your salvation, you are taken from the captivity of the devil; in your calling, you are equipped to go back to that same devil, defeat him and take other people from his captivity.* That is why the devil fights people getting into the calling of God for their lives and functioning there. The devil seeks to push people out of their callings and discourage them, and that is why some Christian enter into some battles.

*Likewise, if you disobey the calling, you will go into crisis with God because from that point on, frustration, a lack of fulfilment & dissatisfaction sets in.* Many people are trying to satisfy the cry of the calling with so many things – party, fame and looking for pleasure in different things. Other people are struggling with problems because of the calling they carry. The devil wants to tie them down with these problems so they never see their callings. *Get out of your problems and get into your calling. The devil can’t defeat the purpose of God in your life once you embrace it.* When Joseph entered the purpose of God for his life, nobody could stop him. Everything they did against Joseph was working for him.

*PRAYER:* Father, I embrace your call for my life afresh today. I pray against every effort of hell to hinder me from fulfilling your purpose for my life in Jesus’ name.

*TOPIC: KNOW WHAT GOD HAS ORDAINED YOU FOR*
Acts 19:1-2; Mark 16:15-18

*Not everybody is going to function as full-time ministers in the preaching of the word of God, but every child of God should be on full-time service for Jesus and the kingdom of God.* Those who are in the full-time service for the kingdom must find out their where and what. Those still in secular employment must know how to combine their career and calling to advance the purpose of God. *Your position and your purpose must be harmonised to fulfil God’s purpose. Your affluence and your influence must be brought together to advance the purpose of God in your generation because time is running out; Jesus is going to come back soon.* When He comes back, He is going to ask each one of us to give an account of what we have done in the body.

*Only the things we have done following divine purpose will be recorded. Nothing outside His purpose will be recorded.* On that day, it will be terrible for people who have not taken the issue of their purpose of divine assignment seriously.

*Every believer is supposed to preach the gospel in a measure, not necessarily as an evangelist. Every believer is supposed to minister deliverance to those bound and lay hands on the sick.* It is so important that we begin to stay in our office. We can function and exercise our grace and become better rather than frustrated when we compare ourselves with others. If we stay and function in our grace, we will not have any reason to allow the judgement of man to put us in a place of inferiority or superiority. When we function in our grace, we will be humble, strong, focused and sensitive to the dealings of God in our lives while waiting for the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ.

*PRAYER:* Father, I pray that you will help me to come into the full worth of my calling so that I can be a blessing to your kingdom and my generation.

*TOPIC: THE ENEMIES YOU MUST CONQUER DAILY (1)*
Proverbs 22:29; 2 Peter 1:10

*God can do a lot but not through just anybody; He needs men that are hard working. You can only qualify yourself for God’s choice through diligence at the Word of God and the details of your assignment* (diligently doing it by commitment, discipline, and daily, not occasionally). *God supplies a calling and an election but you supply diligence to make your calling and election sure.* Many people don’t even know they are called because they have not added diligence. Several people just do things when they feel good.

*If you must fulfil your destiny on this planet, there are four enemies in your life that you must conquer daily:*

*1. You must conquer laziness.* Laziness is relaxation when a man is supposed to be engaging in a useful purpose.

*2. You must conquer procrastination and not put off things that should be done now till later.* Procrastination is a tendency and it can become a habit. A habit is stronger than information. If you hear something new today but your habit is different from what you hear, you will still carry out your habit. Until you hammer the new information into a habit by discipline, the old habit will still rule.

There are many people today that go to fantastic churches, hear fantastic messages but still behave the same old way because their behaviour is the product of their habit. *You must know that your habit is the product of discipline that came from exposure to information.* If you are going to change your habit, you have to get new information and discipline yourself to practice that information until that information becomes your new habit and then replaces the wrong habit.

*PRAYER:* Lord, grant me grace and strength to conquer every form of laziness and procrastination in my life daily in Jesus’ name. Amen!

*TOPIC: THE ENEMIES YOU MUST CONQUER DAILY (2)*

Today, I will be sharing with you the other two enemies that you must conquer daily for you to be effective and successful in your calling.

*3. You have to conquer distractions*. Distraction is the time filtered away on side issues to the detriment of the main issue. You have to separate the main issue of your calling from other things daily. Are you seeking the applause of men or the approval of God? What exactly is your motivation? What is your goal? What are the things driving you in life? For instance, the purpose of a minister of the Gospel is to meet the needs of people, supply understanding, and fulfil his assignment, not to seek to please men. Sometimes, men don’t appreciate what a man of God is doing but he must continue with his ministry. *You don’t do things because people appreciate what you do; you do things because they are right. God blesses what is right not what is popular!*

*4. Lastly, you must conquer impatience*. This refers to a lack of preparation and thoroughness that results in time-consuming mistakes.

*You have to conquer these four things every day if you are going to do the duties of your calling and walk in the full measure of your calling*. Many people carry a calling worth more than what they are manifesting but they are not giving diligence to it. If you are going to be successful in your calling, you will do daily what others do occasionally. *Successful people do daily what others do occasionally. Successful people do by discipline what others do by feeling. Successful people do by commitment what others do by excitement.*

*PRAYER*: Lord, I refuse to be distracted on this journey of destiny. I receive wisdom to separate the main issues of my calling from other things in Jesus’ name. Amen!

*TOPIC: DON’T OPERATE LESSER THAN YOUR CALL!*
Colossians 1:25-29; Galatians 2:8

*The plan of the devil is for you to operate lesser than the call of God for your life.* He wants you to be acting as if you have no call. However, you must know that you are called! *Nevertheless, you are not called according to your own training in school or knowledge but according to God’s purpose.*

*It is possible for you to have had some natural training but God does not call you based on that.* If well used, there are instances where your natural training can become platforms for the purpose of God. *However, God called you according to His purpose.*

For example, that you are a nursery school teacher and you are a believer in a particular church does not mean God has called you to be in the Children’s Department in that church. You will need to find out what your purpose is in that place. You are not called according to the course you studied in school. You are not called according to your sex. You are not called according to your education. You are not called according to your colour. *You are not called according to natural things; you are called according to God’s purpose.*

*God has made some choices on your behalf. You have to accept those choices concerning you and not fight them.* God can call a white man to a global ministry that everybody in the world (white, brown, yellow, or whatever colour) must listen and respond to.

*PRAYER:* Lord, help me to accept the choice of Heaven over my life on time and run with it in Jesus’ name. Amen!

*TOPIC: DEVELOPING ENDURANCE FOR THE CALLING THAT GOD HAS ORDAINED TO PREPARE YOU FOR DESTINY (1)*
Ephesians 4:11-13; John 6:66-68; 1 Corinthians 4:15

*Many ministries and callings will minister to you as a Christian; however, there will be a particular one that God will choose to shape and fashion you for your destiny.* When you come across that ministry or that calling, there must be certain changes in the structure of your attitude so that you can experience and enjoy what that ministry or calling has been ordained to do in your life.

In Ephesian 4, the Bible talks of the 5-fold ministry gifts that God has given to the church, these five offices are given to the entire body of Christ – Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Teachers and Pastors. The Bible says He gave some, Apostles; some, Prophets; some, Evangelists; some, Teachers; and some, Pastors – ‘some,’ … The word ‘some’ is very important because it means that not everybody is given; some men are given as gifts to the rest of the people. Furthermore, the word ‘some’ also applies to the recipients of the gifts: He gave to some an apostle; to some people, a prophet; to some others, an evangelist; to some, a teacher; and to some others, He gave a pastor. *Therefore, although the five are all given to the general body of Christ, each person and each group of people must find out and know which one God has given to them among these five.*

*It is not correct to say that a church is not complete until all these five offices exist in the church* because you are not likely to find all of them present together in a single church – the Bible never said anything like that. However, after God has given ‘some’ to us, he occasionally sends ‘all’ to us. You must recognize the difference between the one that He gave to you and the one that He sends to you.

*Now you must develop endurance towards (and for) the one that he gave to you because that is the one you will stay with.* For instance, if He gave you an apostle, you will need to develop endurance for him and his ministry; but then, God will send prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers to you regularly who will cross your path in different ways and at different times.

*Over the years, I have found out a lot of people did not become all that God wanted them to become because they didn’t endure the ministry that God raised and gave to them to shape them, fashion them, and prepare them, for destiny.* It is not an emotional thing but a divine choice, and once God makes that choice for you, you must make some structural adjustments in your attitude to accommodate and endure that ministry.

*PRAYER:* Father, I receive the baptism of the Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation to recognize the calling that you have given to me and to develop the necessary endurance for the call in order to become all you have ordained through him.

*TOPIC: DEVELOPING ENDURANCE FOR THE CALLING THAT GOD HAS ORDAINED TO PREPARE YOU FOR DESTINY (2)*
Ephesians 4:11-13; John 6:66-68; 1 Cor. 4:15

*You must allow God to help you in finding and identifying that particular ministry or calling that He wants your destiny nurtured under;* your destiny cannot be nurtured by every calling or ministry in the body of Christ. *In relating properly with the ministry or the calling that God has given to you after you have found which particular one it is, there are three words you will have to deal with:*
* Endure the calling
* Enjoy the calling
* Grow with the calling

*You cannot grow with that calling if you don’t enjoy it, and you cannot enjoy it until you have endured – it is after you have endured that you will get to the stage of enjoyment.* When you come around that ministry that will fashion you for your destiny, it will seem difficult at the start. *God chooses for each of us based on His eternal counsel for each one of us,* and that eternal counsel of God determines where He sends you to, what He sends to you and what He allocates to you.

For the apostles that the Lord Jesus Christ pastored and ministered to, their ultimate destination in the kingdom was to be the foundation of the new Jerusalem; there will never be any other apostles like them – they are referred to as foundational apostles and because of that, they were allocated to the master Himself and in that choice, they didn’t have a say. The training programme He gave them, the ministrations and the impartations, were very peculiar.

Quite a number of them were married men and you might want to ask, “Where were their families?” since they were almost always with Him: He sent them on errands and things like that. They had to go through that programme: He wasn’t considering their feelings or their comfort because He was concerned with what they were to become just like He is concerned with what you are to become today.

In John chapter 6, He said some things to them that were very heavy and the bible says, “…many of His disciples went back, and walked with Him no more” because they couldn’t endure His sayings and therefore could not cross over to the other side. *Similarly, on our journey to becoming what God had designed us to be, each one of us will be tested and tried if we must get to where God is taking us.*

*The period of endurance is not going to be very long and after that enjoyment begins to come.* Sometimes, when you first met your best friend, you didn’t really like each other but you endured that period and afterwards, you discovered the treasures that are inside each other and began to enjoy each other until you can’t do without each other. The same thing goes for the calling.

*PRAYER:* Father, give me the grace to go through the three phases of enduring, enjoying and growing with the calling you have raised up for me in Jesus’ name.

*TOPIC: DEVELOPING ENDURANCE FOR THE CALLING THAT GOD HAS ORDAINED TO PREPARE YOU FOR DESTINY (3)*
Ephesians 4:11-13; 2 Kings 5:9-14; John 6:66-68

If you look at Apostle Paul, he will most likely be a very tiny person but very solid inside. There were two young men that God brought to him: Timothy and John-mark. *John-mark could not endure the strength and the demands of Paul’s calling but that was what he needed because the plan of God for him was to become an apostle in the future and so, Timothy was used to replace John-mark in that relationship.* Eventually, we found that Timothy became an apostle while John-mark ended up as a deacon (2 Tim. 4:11); which is very sad!

*Sometimes what you have to endure is the structure and the personalities that you have to relate with.* It is easy on our flesh to want to avoid some things and just run, but when you run away from the workings of God, what happens is that you become spare material wherever you run to – like scaffolding in a building: whenever a house is being built, scaffoldings are a kind of support that enable builders to climb the building. After the building is completed, the scaffoldings are dismantled and packed up because they were not part of the building after all. Sad to say today, there are Christians that are scaffolding materials in the body of Christ; don’t become one of them! God is involved in a building and every Christian is supposed to be a living stone in that building but when you don’t endure the workings of God, you consign yourself to be scaffolding material. *Endure the calling and ministry that you are sure God gave to you and you will turn out exactly the way God had in mind when He chose that road for you to go through.*

*You need to understand that anything that will be used by God to prepare you for your destiny will not be ‘sweet’ at your first contact with them and you may not like where God will place them at first.* Naaman had to endure Elisha’s calling, otherwise, he would have to do without his healing because as far as God was concerned, he wasn’t going to get it somewhere else. Similarly, Elisha had to endure Elijah’s calling to carry the double portion. Korah, Dathan and Abiram couldn’t endure Moses and they perished; Joshua and Caleb rather endured him and they were the ones who became something in God’s hands. *You will never become anything in the kingdom of God until you find which calling God has ordained for you that you must endure.*

*PRAYER:* Lord, fill my heart with an understanding of the danger of not cooperating with or enduring the calling and structure that you have ordained to prepare and lead me for destiny in Jesus’ name.

*TOPIC: REASONS PEOPLE OPERATE LESSER THAN THEIR CALLING (1)*
Jeremiah 1:4-5

*There are two errors that Christians commit on the subject of the calling.* The *first error* is when churches or pastors ask men to perform above their call or rate men above their call. This can lead to frustration, damage and exposure to the devil’s attack. *The second error* is when churches and members are operating lower than their call. I will like to show you some reasons Christians operate lesser than their calling:

*1. Little or no teaching on the call of God on the individual believer.* You have a call from God. Don’t let the devil deceive you into believing that the ministers who stand before you in church are the ones that have a call and that you don’t have a call. *Every member of the Body of Christ is a member by function and that function is a product of the calling.*

Just put your name in the place of Jeremiah as shown in our text above and the same is true of you. It does not matter who you are, whether you are born again or not, God has a call on your life. There are people that are in hell today (and those that will still go to hell) who will not be judged as ordinary sinners but as called people because of the calling on their lives. *We shall be judged based on our calling, not just based on our humanity.*

*You need to know that God sent you here with a calling. He sanctified you and ordained you unto a particular purpose. You have a significant role to play here.*

*PRAYER:* Lord, I will not live my life as an ordinary man anymore in Jesus’ name. Amen!

*TOPIC: REASONS PEOPLE OPERATE LESSER THAN THEIR CALLING (3)*
1 Corinthians 12:14-18

Let’s see the third reason people operate lesser than their calling.

*3. Comparison and competition:* Each part needs different gifts to function in its different role. The foot has a different assignment from the hand, but if it is comparing itself and competing with the hand, it won’t do its job. This is another reason people perform lesser than their call. *If you are competing with somebody, you won’t ever do your job but you will be running that person’s race. God has called us to complement each other, not to compete with each other.* You are unique and different in your calling. You are not inferior to another person.

There are churches today that recognise only stewards that perform public functions, so those whose assignments are in the background don’t think they are important. The intercessor is not less important to the preacher. The intercessor’s job is not necessarily public and is not less important to that of a chorister. *God has placed different roles and gifts in church for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of ministry and for the edifying of the Body of Christ (Eph. 4:11-12).*

We can’t all have the same type of gift and calling. The Bible talks of multiplicity and multi-dimension of calling. It also talks about complementation of callings, not competition of callings. *Let’s see the fourth reason people operate lesser than their calling.*

*4. Laziness and complacency:.* A lazy man is not a friend of God. God is always working. Jesus said, “My Father worketh hitherto, and I work (Joh. 5:17)”. *One thing that you will see in the Bible is that God is a hard worker.* There is nobody that works more than God. The Bible does not have a nice view of laziness. God does not condone laziness neither does He finance or subsidise it. *Work is part of the plan of God for us so that we can maximise our destinies. Destiny must not remain in the realm of a vision or a dream but must become life work* that you dedicate the best of yourself, your youth, energy, skill, talent, time, and resources to do.

*You must do everything possible to discover your call on time, and run the full course of it before you leave this earth.* Is there something that you are involved in that you are not sure is what God created you to do? While you are on the earth, your calling must become your work, not a title that you are carrying around. *You are not going to make full proof of your ministry until you do the work of that ministry.*

*There is a work of ministry. There is a work that your calling places on you and you must find it and let it become your life work.* You must also work while it is day because the night is coming when no man shall work (Joh. 9:4). *You will not have all the time in the world to fulfil your call. So, work now!*

*TOPIC: MAKING FULL PROOF OF YOUR MINISTRY*
Luke 19:12-13, 15; 2 Timothy 4:5

You must make a full proof of your ministry. *The grace of God will draw the circle of your life, ministry, and destiny, but you will fill it with work.* If God has put your name on an assignment or duty in Zion, you must make sure you make full proof of that.

*There will be a day of reckoning with the Lord when every man will give account of their ministry and state how they did it.* Can you see that in the Luke 19 text above? The master called for a reckoning and each one of the servants approached him. The first one said in verse 16, ‘Lord, thy pound hath gained ten pounds’, and the master replied, ‘Well done, thou good servant, because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have then authority over ten cities’. This servant had *full manifestation and fulfilment* of his calling. Look at the next one: ‘And the second came and said Lord, thy pound hath gained five pounds’. That’s *partial fulfilment!*

Then the third man came, ‘saying, Lord, behold, here is thy pound, which I have kept laid up in a napkin’. This is *no manifestation.* This man did not bother. He had the gift but he didn’t work to fulfil his ministry. *These are three levels in which people operate: some have no fulfilment of their ministry, some have partial fulfilment of their ministry, and some have full fulfilment of their ministry. I implore you to do everything possible to make a full proof of your ministry.*

*PRAYER:* Lord, help me to make a full proof of my ministry in Jesus’ name. Amen!

*Welcome to June! The theme for this month’s Devotional is “Last Days Preparation – the King is coming!”* I believe that our generation will most likely be the generation that will witness the Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. We must therefore be prepared for His coming. Most times, Christians don’t take time to study this subject because it is time-consuming, so, we have left this to Bible School students alone. Some ministers of the Gospel don’t even bother teaching on the subject, but I believe that it is a fantastic subject that God wants us to get into which is why it is the focus of this month’s Devotional. God has said that Jesus would come soon and so, we must get set for His coming.

*The teaching of Jesus’ Second Coming is one of the primary truths that gives the believer a spirit of consecration to wait for Jesus and keep himself pure. It is the greatest motivation for holy living based on the Bible.* One of the reasons there is so much lack of holiness, compromise, and ungodliness in the Body of Christ is because there has been a lack of emphasis on the teaching of the Second Coming of Christ.

The more you get involved in something, the more you get desensitised to other things. If you get involved with the things of the world, you get more sensitised to the things of the world and get more desensitised to the things of heaven. *As we receive teachings on prosperity, faith, and success, we should receive teachings on heaven side-by-side to have a balanced approach to life. This will make us be earthly useful and heavenly fit.* Get set for a ride in the Holy Ghost through this peculiar study throughout this month.

*TOPIC: BE SENSITISED TO THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST*
2 Thessalonians 2:1-2

*There are two subjects in the Body of Christ today that the Church is sleeping over. The first is the eternal damnation of a soul that perishes in hell – that is, someone that dies without being born again – and the second issue is that of the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.* The devil has somehow made Christians believe that if someone dies without being born again, he will not suffer as much as some people want to make it seem. Hence, the reason we are not preaching the Gospel to people individually as passionately as God wants us to preach it.

*If all believers believe that anybody who dies without Christ is going to an eternity without God, we will talk to people about Christ more earnestly than we do.* We will pray for our family members more seriously and we will make it a point of duty to make sure that everyone we love doesn’t go to hell. *We must live our lives as if Jesus left at 6:00 am and is coming back at 6:00 pm. You don’t know when He will come back but if you live like that while you do every other thing in between, you will be saved.* Most of the songs that we sing today deal with the earthly realm.

The old-time saints were strongly inclined to the divine and suffered many things for Jesus. They endured many things and their strength of endurance came from the fact that they had a vision of a greater place other than the earth. *We have focused so much on the present that we are now desensitised to the hereafter, but we must balance both sides as we walk with Jesus.*

*PRAYER:* I come against every desensitisation the devil is bringing against me about the salvation of lost souls and the Second Coming of the Lord in Jesus’ name. Amen!

*TOPIC: THE RAPTURE AND THE SECOND COMING OF THE LORD*
1 Thessalonians 4:15-17; 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12; Daniel 9:24-27

*The word ‘rapture’ is not in the Bible but the word ‘caught up’* which the Bible mentioned in verse 17 of 1 Thessalonians 4 is from the Greek word harpazo which is translated into ‘rapture’. Harpazo means to seize by force/snatch up; to catch in an ecstasy; caught up.

*There is an individual dimension to going with the rapture. You will have to make up your mind if you would be going.* If the rapture takes place today, you should be up there and not be looking around here. *Our text, 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12, refers to the coming of Jesus (which is the Second Advent) and our gathering together unto Him (this is the rapture of the Church).*

*The rapture* is when Jesus will come for His bride, the Church, which is those people who are ready, waiting, looking, and expecting Him to come. *The Second Advent* is when Jesus will come with His bride for Israel. Understand that and don’t mix them. *It will be separated by a period of seven years. When the rapture takes place, everyone should know that seven years from that time, Jesus will come back physically.* We must teach everything that has to do with the Second Coming of Christ in case some people are careless and miss the rapture.

*During those seven years, everyone that missed the rapture will have to live by their energy and not on the grace of God, to keep themselves from accepting the mark of the anti-Christ.* If you miss the rapture, you should know that Jesus will come seven years after the rapture, but before then you must make sure you don’t accept the mark of the anti-Christ. *The people that will be saved after the rapture will be saved by their blood because the Blood of Jesus is available for salvation only before the rapture.*

*PRAYER:* Help me Lord to live out each day of my life rapture-ready in Jesus’ name. Amen!

*TOPIC: APPROACHING THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST WITH THE RIGHT MINDSET*
1 Thessalonians 5:7-11; Matthew 25:14-30

*Most Christians that have become careless, compromised, and mixed up with the world have done so because the teaching on the Second Coming of Christ has not been a major emphasis in recent times in the Body of Christ.*

We must not get to the extreme on either side because all some people focus on is heaven. *Every teaching in the Bible must have a positive application to your present life and the application of the teaching of the Second Coming of Christ that discourages people from attaining higher education is a wrong application.* That is the reason Jesus gave the parable of the talent in Matthew 25:14-30. Some people have become irresponsible in the guise of waiting for the Second Coming of Jesus.

There is this crazy idea that the rapture will deliver you from your obligations. You need to know that people that miss the rapture will remain on earth for seven years while those of us that will make the rapture will be in heaven with Jesus. Christians and unbelievers who miss the rapture will still be on earth for seven years after the rapture. So, don’t let the devil deceive you with this irresponsible thought of just loafing around while waiting for Jesus to come back. *The teaching of the Second Coming of Christ that is correctly applied should produce a spirit of responsibility in Christians and not otherwise.*

When we get born again, we become fit for heaven. *Do you then wonder why Jesus didn’t take you to heaven after you get saved? The reason He left us here is to prepare us for the future government that He’s going to set up on the earth during the Millennial Reign.* What each one of us is doing or not doing now will determine our levels and positions in the Kingdom that Jesus will set up on the earth. *Don’t be found among the people that say, “We are just waiting for heaven, we don’t need to develop ourselves.”*

*PRAYER:* I receive the help of the Holy Spirit to live responsibly to execute my earthly responsibilities and still be heavenly-fit in Jesus’ name. Amen!

*Take your place in destiny; fill up your space in the Kingdom, fill up your measure of the stature of Christ.* Don’t say, “Jesus is coming back very soon” and refuse to go to school or be serious with your work. Develop yourself as much as you can while you still have the time. God expects and holds you responsible to do that because that will affect what and who you are going to be in the future Kingdom of Jesus. *Prosperity without purpose is bondage and purpose without prosperity can also be frustrating.* Joseph was prepared himself because he had a vision of being a leader. Revelation 4–6

*There’s something peculiar about heaven and the focus there is the Throne of God.* No one knows how large, big, or wide this throne is, but the important thing is that it is at the centre of heaven. *The Throne of God should also be the centre of your life.*

*The Throne of God talks of His dominion, authority, and power in our lives.* John was arrested by the Throne and then went on to describe Him. He couldn’t talk of the One on the Throne in detail because no one has seen God in detail to describe Him; John only saw a figure on the Throne.

*In chapters 2 and 3,* the Church was on the earth still functioning like we are functioning today, but in *chapter 4,* the Church had moved in the rapture to heaven.

*Chapters 6 and 7* talk about the period that people describe as the Tribulation Period which is the seven years after we have gone into the rapture. Many events are going to happen. *Chapters 6 to 18* do not concern us, but we need to understand them to know what we must avoid. *It doesn’t matter what else you are doing today, don’t sacrifice your ultimate destination for a temporary bus stop. Everything we are doing today is a temporary bus stop and you must not sacrifice your ultimate destination.*

*Chapter 20* talks about the 1,000 year reign of Christ on the earth. It talks of the judgement of the devil and where he’s going to be put in the bottomless pit for 1,000 years. Then Jesus is going to establish His 1,000year reign on the earth. The lake of fire is the place for serving punishment. It is the final death and final separation.

*PRAYER:* Dear Lord, keep me in the centre of Your will. I will not derail from God’s plan for my life in Jesus’ name. Amen!

*TOPIC: EIGHT THINGS YOU MUST OVERCOME*
Revelation 21:4-8, 27

Genesis chapters 1 and 2 and Revelations chapters 21 and 22 are the only perfect chapters in the Bible. Every other chapter in the Bible talks about the redemptive plan of God for man. *One of the things redemption brought for us is the power to overcome.*

This Kingdom is for overcomers and I want to tell you eight things that you must overcome. *It is the born-again man that has the capacity to overcome; a man that is not born-again is overcome.* The born-again man has a mission to overcome everything the devil throws on his path because he has the potential and the power, but he must be ready to work and overcome.

*What do we need to overcome as believers?*

*1. Fear:* One of the things we must overcome is fear. It leads to lies and all kinds of problems in the lives of people. We must overcome fear.

*2. Unbelief:* We must overcome unbelief.

*3. Doubt:* Doubts have kept so many people away from the provisions of God for them.

*4. Abomination:* We must overcome every form of abomination and things that are contrary to the will and the nature of God.

*5. Murder:* We must overcome murder.

*6. Whoremongery:* This refers to sexual sins and sexual iniquity. Out of the sins in the Bible, sexual sin is one of the major sins. “Whoremongery” encompasses all forms of sexual immoralities, and you must overcome that.

*7. Idolatry:* This is the desire to get power and it is plaguing men in the world. Idolatry is allowing things to take the place of God in your heart.

*8. Lying:* We must overcome lies; white lies, technical lies, half-truths, and black lies. “… And all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death” (Rev. 21:8b).

*PRAYER:* I lay hold on the grace bestowed upon me through Jesus Christ to overcome everything the devil throws at me in Jesus’ name. I am an overcomer! Amen!

*TOPIC: THE UNVEILING OF JESUS CHRIST*
Revelation 1:1

Revelation 1:1
_1 The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:_

Many people misunderstand the book of Revelation. It’s a revelation of Jesus Christ and an unveiling. “Revelation” is from the Greek word apokalupsis which means “unveiling”. *The book of Revelation is an unveiling of Jesus Christ which God gave unto John to show unto His servants about things that must shortly come to pass.*

The phrase “shortly come to pass” is not talking about John’s timeframe. The misunderstanding of it gave people, even in the days of John, the impression that Jesus was coming back in their time. The word “shortly” means “quickly come to pass”, that is, when those things begin to happen, it will be in quick successions.

The revelation of Jesus is *an unveiling of who Jesus is to mankind.* It is *an unveiling of the final dealing of God with mankind,* given to Jesus as the Head of the Church and Administrator of the universe to show unto His servants, and Jesus sent it through an angel to John.

Interestingly, the intimacy that Jesus had with John while He was alive was one of the reasons why he was the one given this revelation. *Intimacy always produces revelation. The difference between intimacy and familiarity is that familiarity produces knowledge that does not have respect but intimacy produces revelation that has respect.*

John was so close to Jesus; he was the beloved of the Lord and the one who laid on the chest of Jesus when they were at the Communion Table (Joh. 13:21-27). When Jesus told His disciples that one of them was going to betray Him, none of them knew who it was but John was the only one that knew Judas would be the one to betray the Lord.

*PRAYER:* I reject any seed of the spirit of familiarity with God and His word in my life. I receive grace to grow in intimacy with God daily in Jesus’ name. Amen!

*TOPIC: DON’T MISUNDERSTAND THE SPACE TO REPENT AS DIVINE LICENSE TO MISBEHAVE*
Revelation 2:21

Many times, people waste their space to repent. Within that space to repent, friends and people that know God may encourage you in wrong behaviour, but you have to tell them to leave you alone. *The devil will always find somebody to encourage you in sin and wrong behaviour but your heart will convict you; the Holy Ghost will try to talk to you and men will be sent to you in person.* God will give anyone that is sustaining attitudes that attract the Jezebel spirit space to repent. Unfortunately, most people don’t utilise that space positively. *People get confused because they misinterpret the space to repent as a divine license to misbehave. Don’t ever do that!*

*You have to be careful with every issue that has to do with the word of God. Some people don’t pay their tithes and God has been telling them they will get in trouble on that path. Once you violate the Scriptures, you are in the devil’s territory.* The devil is like a policeman in the spirit realm. For example, if you are driving a car but you don’t have a driver’s license, then policemen stop you along the way. It was not when the policemen stopped you that you broke the law; you broke the law when you left your house, driving without a driving license. You were already in the hands of those policemen at the time you left your house without a license, but the agent of the law just brought the law to face you at the time you were arrested.

*In the same way, from the minute a Christian steps outside the Scriptures, he’s in the hand of the devil although the devil may not touch him for the next three years.* The devil likes disobedience to become habitual for Christians so that when he is coming at them, they won’t be in the habit of quickly jumping back under the line of God again. This gives the devil the opportunity to hit and hit them badly depending on how intimidating their destiny is to him.

*PRAYER:* Lord, uphold me steadfastly within the righteous zone of Your word to the very end in Jesus’ name. Amen!

*TOPIC: THE SPACE TO REPENT IS TIME-BOUND*
Revelation 2:21; Judges 14:1-4

No matter how bad the case of a human being or a child of God is in sin, God will give him a space to repent, not a space to misbehave. *The fact that God’s judgement isn’t pronounced instantly on a person who sins is not a sign that God approves of wrong behaviour. In fact, that is the deception of the devil to many Christians that God approves of their misbehaviour.*

Samson is a classic example of a man that didn’t use his space to repent because when he started cohabiting with strange women the anointing was still on him; he was still carrying the gates of the city and still doing feats of supernatural strength. So, he concluded that God must have somehow classified him into the group of special human beings that had a license to sin and still continue their assignment. No greater deception exists anywhere in the Bible than that.

*That God is tolerating something in your life does not mean that God is happy with your life. That God is using somebody is not a sign that God approves of everything in that person’s life.* For example, Samson on one occasion expressed a desire towards a strange woman as God was looking for an occasion to move against the Philistines and judge them. When the wedding programme started, the father of the girl suddenly broke his promise to Samson and gave the lady to another person. God didn’t allow Samson to marry a Philistine but His purpose was accomplished.

*God will give people space and when that space is over, God will take a sovereign action. However, within the space of time to repent, God will allow pastors, counsellors, prophets, and the spirit of that person to talk to him and call him to repentance.*

*PRAYER:* Father, thank You for the space to repent and thank You for saving my soul in Jesus’ name. Amen!

*TOPIC: DON’T WASTE YOUR SPACE TO REPENT*
Revelation 2:21

*There are sinners in the world today that God is giving a space to repent and there’s something like the last chance for some people.* I watched a crusade by an international evangelist and he said, “There’s a young man here, this is your name…. God said, ‘This is your last chance to repent! I have called you four times and after tonight, I won’t call you again.’” There are people like that who know that God is after them. Such people are sinners but particularly carry a sense of divine call. They know they are running away from God and constantly hear God come for them to respond to His call, until it becomes the last chance and ultimately death and ending up in hell if God’s call is not heeded.

*I don’t know what it is that God has given you space to repent of – your disobedience, incomplete obedience, etc. – I admonish you to use that space to repent. To repent means to have a change of mind.* It means you are going in a direction and then turn around and say, “This is the will of God for me, I’m not doing that anymore.” There must come a time in your life that you decide to repent. Most of us that are born again have repented of a sinful way of life. However, now that we are in Christ, we must repent of everything and anything in our lives that is contrary to the will of God.

The Christianity of today that tells you that God is just a Sugar Daddy or a Father Christmas is dangerous; it’s not biblical Christianity. *If you are doing the wrong thing, the Holy Ghost will convict you and God will give you space to repent. God will not subsidise misbehaviour in the lives of His people because He calls us to a life of high standards as examples to the world.* That’s why the Bible says that we will not be judged by the world if we will judge ourselves.

*PRAYER:* Lord, I receive grace to walk in grace as an example of godly standards to the world in Jesus’ name. Amen!

*TOPIC: IDENTIFY WHAT YOU ARE TO REPENT OF AS A CHRISTIAN*
2 Thessalonians 3:10

I have known some Christians who since the day they got born again have never been free of adultery and God still gives them space to repent. God waited for 40 years for Israel in the wilderness in His mercy. None of us will tolerate that but in His mercy, God gives us space to repent. God wants men to change the way they treat their wives and daughters, and it may be your finances He wants you to handle better.

Some people are emotional about spending and eventually lose their business, and have to stay under leadership after they have tasted autonomy. *If you are irresponsible in a place of autonomy, the judgement is a loss of autonomy.*

Some people keep spending money to prop up an irresponsible family member and after some time God says, “Close his business and let him stay under you. Otherwise, your business will close down.” *Understand that God will not give you money to keep using it to finance errors.*

*Some people need to repent of laziness because they are just coasting along in life and God has been calling them to repent from such behaviour because it is not compatible with the ways of the Kingdom as the Bible says that anyone that does not work should not eat (2 The. 3:10).*

*A laziness mindset is what is causing trouble everywhere.* This is why developed countries differ from developing countries. In developed countries, there is a demand for their graduates who are still living with their parents to pay the electricity bill, rent, or water bills. Whereas in Africa, you will still see a 40-year-old man eating at his mother’s table and such a mother is not bothered.

*PRAYER:* Lord, don’t spare me on any matter I need to repent on from time to time in Jesus’ name. Amen!

*TOPIC: GOD JUDGES UNREPENTANCE (1)*
Revelation 2:22

Revelation 2:22 _‘Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds.’_

*There are three levels of judgement and three categories of people that God is talking about in the Scripture above:*
1. Jezebel’s spirit;
2. Those committing fornication with her; and
3. Her children.

The spirit of Jezebel is operating in those that sustain attitudes that are synonymous and congruent to Jezebel. Those that commit fornication with her are those in leadership that are buying into the doctrines of Jezebel. *Her children are the products of that unholy union between wrong doctrine and the Church.*

God said He will cast her into a bed. Every time that God speaks of “casting into a bed” He is talking of two things: physical affliction and physical ailments in life. When Solomon began to buy into the doctrine of Jezebel by getting into strange alliances and marrying strange women, the Bible says that God stirred up the spirit of adversaries against him (1 Kin. 11:14). *So, when a child of God begins to experience adversity and adversaries are rising against him from places where they shouldn’t rise from, stop and check maybe you have stepped beyond the line.*

God also said in the Scripture above that He would bring Jezebel into great tribulation. Tribulation means serious tragedy. I read an article some time ago about a crisis that started in one African country. It was reported that before that crisis started, a prophet said that he saw a fire burning from the northern part of that country that would consume the entire country if the people didn’t repent and change. They thought it was a joke because the Church had got so decadent and they were revelling in their newfound freedom, wealth, and blessings. Then a crisis broke out in the north and began to spread, and the rest is history today in that country.

*PRAYER:* Lord, I reject any operation of Jezebel in my life in Jesus’ name. Amen!

*TOPIC: GOD JUDGES UNREPENTANCE (2)*
Isaiah 59:1-2

*You must understand that the Church of Jesus Christ as an entity is placed by God in the society as the salt for the land.* It is never God’s plan that men will trample upon His people but there are Christians that men trample upon as if God is not in them. Most of the time, such Christians have wasted their space to repent. In the space to repent, God does not allow the devil to touch you because He wants you to change. At this time, the devil just threatens but can’t cross the line.

*The line that demarcates God’s territory and the devil’s territory is the word of God.* God says, “Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, and I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes” (Mal. 3:10, 11). If you don’t bring all the tithes, you have crossed the line and the devourer is not rebuked. Yet some people don’t pay tithes and are going from miracle service to miracle service asking for financial breakthrough. Even if in mercy God blesses them with a financial breakthrough, the devourer will still take it.

*God is calling you to repent of everything He’s been dealing with you over. He doesn’t want you to continue in that way. God will convict you privately or He will send a prophet to you.*

It can come in a word on the pulpit but most of the time, it is hypocrites who refuse to repent that God exposes and it cannot be covered up anymore. *Many times, when God allows exposure, it is one step short of final judgement. The exposure is to bring that person to his senses.*

*PRAYER:* Lord, I make a commitment to fulfil my role as salt to the land, where you have placed me in Jesus’ name. Amen!

*TOPIC: LOOK LIKE THE FATHER*
1 Corinthians 3:11

1 Corinthians 3:11 _‘For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ.’_

*God established His Kingdom as one family and we all should look alike if we are of the same family.* Unfortunately, although we all call ourselves children of God in the Church these days, we all don’t look alike spiritually nor do we behave alike. God doesn’t desire a polygamous family where all the children look so different from one another and behave differently. If you are from a polygamous home, you will know that the children don’t behave like their father but always behave like their mother. The children look like their father but their behaviour is determined by their mothers.

God doesn’t want that kind of family but that’s what we have turned the Body of Christ to today. These days, you can find workers/stewards in churches stealing money yet speaking in tongues. Why would a sister and a brother that are not married be comfortable with cohabiting and see nothing wrong with it!? *That behaviour is a product of unsound doctrine practised by some churches.*

*There’s only one Bible, so, why do we have different kinds of Christians? Why do some Christians still react against sound teaching?* This is because their church has given them doctrines that accommodate an unsound lifestyle. So, when they hear sound teaching that calls them to a godly lifestyle as contained in the Bible, they complain that it is too hard.

*According to today’s text, there is no other foundation that can be laid except that which is already laid. The foundation is salvation through Jesus Christ. No church saves anybody; it is Jesus that saves you.*

*PRAYER:* Lord, I long for the truth according to Your word. I follow after sound doctrine so that I may look like You in Jesus’ name. Amen!

*TOPIC: THE CHURCH YOU ATTEND DETERMINES WHAT YOU WILL BECOME*
Psalms 68:6

*When you are saved, God wants you to get to church but not just any church. It is God that sets believers in churches* and expects His children to prayerfully approach the matter of church membership. The same way God sets offices of apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor, and teacher is the same way He sets people in churches.

*If you end up in the wrong church, you will only be going to church for a long time and not hear a message that calls you to live right.* Somewhere along the way, we have got a mixture of foreign culture with the Gospel of Christ and that’s not Christianity.

Revelation 2:24 _"But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira as many as have not this doctrine…"_

In the Church in Thyatira, some people didn’t buy into the doctrine of error. They were referred to in this Scripture as, “…the rest in Thyatira….” They were the ones that insisted that the strange doctrine can’t be right.

*You need a doctrine that will qualify you for the rapture.* The rapture is not my rapture, it is not your rapture, but it is God’s rapture. *If there is anything God is against, beloved, be against it or it will be against you on the day of rapture.* There’s always a remnant that abides by the truth of God’s word. *No matter how much the Church is legalistic, compromising, or licentious, there will be a remnant that will be rapturable. Be part of that remnant.*

*PRAYER:* I choose to be of the remnant that won’t buy into the doctrine of error these last days. I will not be a victim of deception in Jesus’ name. Amen!

*TOPIC: KEY THINGS YOU MUST HOLD FAST TILL THE END (1)*
Romans 8:35-39

There are things in God you must hold fast till Jesus comes. What are those things?

*1. Your Salvation*

*Don’t ever let anything happen to you that makes you think twice about your commitment to Jesus as your Saviour.* There will be challenges but hold fast to your salvation because the devil wants to separate you from eternal life.

Romans 8:38-39
_38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,_
_39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord._

Do you know that there are many times the devil stalks you to get your salvation from you? The devil will manipulate situations, people, and systems to get you to drop off from following Jesus.

There was a story of a woman who sought admission into the university for almost four years. Out of frustration, she told God that He failed her and backslid. The same year she chose to walk away from God was when she passed her university admission examinations and strayed so far away from God. She eventually returned to God but some people strayed the same way and never found their way back to God. *Note that God has never failed anybody and He’s not going to start with you.* Yet the devil has lied to many Christians to make them lose their salvation.

Sometimes a loved one dies and you say, “Oh God! You failed me!” That is not true. The devil is setting you up to take salvation from you. *The loss of a job, pressure to get married or pressure to have a child shouldn’t take your salvation from you.* Yet the devil uses these things to deceive some Christians. *Hold fast to what you have. You must know what you have so the devil doesn’t take it from you.*

*PRAYER:* Lord, help me to hold fast to Your love for me. Nothing will separate me from Your love in Jesus’ name. Amen!

*TOPIC: KEY THINGS YOU MUST HOLD FAST TILL THE END (2)*
Luke 22:28-32

*The second thing the devil is looking to steal from you as a Christian is your faith in God.*

Luke 22:31-32
_31 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:_
_32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren._

The Master is showing us what must not fail in our lives. *You don’t call a man a failure if his faith has not failed. I don’t care what you have got, I don’t care where you are today, if your faith has failed you, are a failure.* Your marriage may fail, your health may fail, your business may collapse, and your career may collapse but if your faith is intact, you are still going to rise. You are not a failure while your faith is still intact and that’s why the devil wants to steal your faith in God. *Your faith in God is that force inside you that believes that there is a God of heaven that has not abandoned you, giving you the strength to say, “Everything may be breaking down around me but I’ve got God on my side.”*

So, Jesus prayed one thing for Peter, _“…that your faith will not fail”._ There are many people that the first thing they dropped when a slight shaking happened in their lives was their faith in God. Some dropped their faith in the Anointing and some dropped their faith in the church and the things of God. This is what the devil is after. *Once the devil succeeds in separating you from your faith, he has no interest in you any longer. What makes you interesting to the devil is that you have faith in God. Your brain doesn’t impress the devil* – he has got plenty of intelligent people in his Kingdom that are serving him – but *he’s afraid of a Christian with a living faith in a living God.*

*PRAYER:* Father, I hold on to my faith in You. My faith will not fail in Jesus’ name. Amen!

*TOPIC: FIGHT YOUR BATTLES OF FAITH*
Romans 8:37

*Many people are not champions because they run away from battles. When you start anything in life, the devil is not going to walk away from it; he will come after you to deny you victory.* When the children of Israel entered the Promised Land, even though God had given it to them, they still had to confront the giants. Some of them could not take it but Caleb said, “No! Give me this mountain! I believe in God! (Num. 13:30; Jos. 14:7-12).” *Are you going to let one crazy giant keep you from your destiny?*

*You can always take the head of your Goliath if you have faith in God. By faith, every Goliath is killable; that is what the story of David tells us (1 Sam. 17:1-54).* So, don’t let the devil steal your faith. He has stolen the salvation of some people, and for some, he has stolen their faith and they are just doing mechanical attendance in the church without any living faith in God anymore. Some people have backslidden and are still in the Church.

*You must make up your mind that nothing will take your salvation and nothing will take your faith.* There is nothing the devil can put you in that your faith in God cannot bring you out of. *There is nothing that life can throw at you that faith in God cannot bring you over. God is just looking for somebody that dares to believe Him amid all the unbelief around him.* Too many Christians have not been taught how to fight. Instead, they are fed with this pain-killer Gospel where everybody thinks that the pastor is not praying if something bad happens to the members. That will make you a weak Christian. *Get some spiritual stamina! Get some backbone inside your spirit!*

*PRAYER:* Father, I have the victory. I am more than a conqueror through Christ. Nothing will steal my faith in You in Jesus’ name. Amen!

*TOPIC: HOLD ON TO YOUR REWARD*
2 John 5-8

*Don’t lose your reward for what you have done. Everyone that has laboured for God has a reward coming. Don’t let the devil steal your reward.*

2 John 8
_Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward._

Can you imagine someone who has led another person to Christ who backslid? That person will lose not only his salvation but also lose the reward for the person he led to Christ. *Don’t lose your reward.* You may be a wife that laboured in a man’s life over the years. He has become popular while you were like the engine in the car, labouring and serving him.

*Don’t let anything cause you to lose your reward. When you stand before the Master, you will get your reward for what you have contributed to his life.*

A man of God saw a vision one day, a curtain was pulled back and he saw an old woman praying. God told him that for every soul he brought to heaven, that woman would share half of his reward because she faithfully prayed for his crusades.

*Many people are silent operators in the Kingdom, labouring in the secret, and they are part of the major targets of the devil because he wants to bring discouragement and weariness to their souls to make them quit.* The devil’s goal is to deny them the rewards waiting for them; they will make heaven but find out they have no reward because they allowed themselves to be offended, discouraged, and weary.

*Don’t be weary in well-doing. Don’t ever get to a place where you are fed up because nobody notices you. No! You don’t do anything for people to notice you; you do things for God because God said you should do it. Do things because they are right and required of you by God.*

*PRAYER:* Father, I remain steadfast in well-doing. I will not be discouraged. I will not lose my reward in Jesus’ name. Amen!
