If Ojukwu had not declared Biafra within one month of Gowon making that announcement, he would never been able to do it again.

Also, Ojukwu neither declared war nor did he start war. It was Nigeria that come to the East to fight Ojukwu and his people where they were enjoying their new country

During the 3 years war Biafrans produced almost everything the used including refining their crude oil and here in 2018 Nigeria exports crude oil to import petrol... Biafra would have been better if it got it's freedom after the war.
