University Of Benin final year student of Mass Communication and Nigerian's prolific poet, Samuel Ogbemudia popularly known as SamDePoet has hit the internet with his creative writing talent, while attracting positive reactions and appraisals.

SamDePoet revealed that he is not just after making a name in the literary industry, but to contribute his literary talent towards talent development among the youths globally as well as willing to partner with individuals, organizations, literary events planners and participate in poem competitions across the world.


Amongst his numerous literary works is this amazing poem entitled 'A THIEF IN THE HAREM.'


The poem was written during the time when a thief was caught stealing valuables in one of the female hostels in the University; Margaret Ekpo Hostel.

A THIEF IN THE HAREM


There's a thief in the harem
An uninvited guest in feminine quarters
They tremble at his shadow's fleeting passing
Heared many virtues he intends plundering
Was sighted at the towering walls,
Seems there's a wall he intends breaking.

Last night Laura saw him,
Heared he gifted her an ominous aura.
She did shout for help on the green space,
Tapping furiously on her pads!
General Mufasa offered,
Said men braver than simba where on stand by.

This thief,
Eve's daughters at his mention scamper
They tremble at his shadow's fleeting passing
Word's that,
He plunders lonely deserted buzz machines
Laps gets missing from tops at sight
He plunders everything in sight,
Such is the effect of his fright.

There is a thief in the harem
He's stealing talking gadgets
At his sight laps are missing from tops
Last night he was seen jumping in,
To get more buzzing machines? Perhaps more laps on tops?

He's leaping over great China walls',
Apparently for buzz machines and lap on tops.
We hope to him there'll be a stopping soon
Lest he jumps over and break hymen walls
Or leap over and see what's under tops!

There is a thief in the harem that needs stopping
On sacred walls he may intend a plundering
But that's a truth we don't intend finding
This breakless terror we must now halt
Lest on our feminine quarters he inflicts hurts.
