The "white" parents who you want to idolize now suffers more in the aspect of suicide. They have close relationship with their kids, yet their kids commits suicide on a daily.[color=#990000][/color]
If not the kind of family i have i might have done the same when i tried my first UME then but thank God that i now see life differently

When we tell people to stop putting excessive pressure on their kids, they won't listen. People think it's funny when African parents bring out their belts or canes to punish kids for not getting the best grades. There's nothing wrong with discipline when a child is deliberately lazy but encouragement goes a long way. Everyone has different gifts. Provide enough opportunities as well as education, watch your child and encourage them to be the best at whatever their good at. Some are amazing with art, terrible with maths but will still receive beating for not getting A in maths instead of being provided with materials and encouraged in their passion for art.
This is the result. Some kids think grades are that important that they can't face their parents so they kill themselves. We need to do better
