Vacancy For Event Manager/Coordinator. Gender: Male/Female. Location: Lagos (preferably around Yaba axis and environs). An event catering outfit located in Lagos is urgently hiring for the above stated role. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Understand requirements for each event. • Plan events with attention to financial and time constraints. • Research vendors (decorators, musicians etc.) and choose the best combination of quality and cost. • Negotiate with vendors to achieve the most favorable terms. • Hire personnel. • Manage all event operations (preparing venue, etc.) • Do final checks at the day of the event (e.g. tables, technology) to ensure everything meets standards. • Oversee event happenings and act quickly to resolve problems. • Evaluate event’s success and submit reports. REQUIREMENTS: • A proven experience as event coordinator • A proven track record of organizing successful events • Proficient in MS Office and invoicing applications. • Excellent vendor management skills. • Knowledge of basic social media marketing. • Outstanding communication and negotiation ability. • Well-organized with multi-tasking skills. • Ability to handle stress and remain calm. • Problem-solver. • Degree in hospitality management, public relations or relevant field is preferred but not necessary.
