Thai Police Focus On All 1,400 Nigerians For Fraud Investigation, 5 Arrested by kemzy036: 9:51am On Sep 18
The deputy tourist police chief Pol Maj-General Surachet Hakpal, on Saturday, said the police will soon conclude their focus on all 1,400 Nigerians living in Thailand.

Surachet said police would recheck Nigerians living in the country, to ensure they are living in accordance with the purposes they stated in their entry visa applications.

He said singling out the entirety of one nationality for police attention was needed after “many Nigerians” were found to be taking part in romance scams deceiving Thai women.

He added that five Nigerians had been arrested in romance scams where they deceived 48 Thai women out of Bt5.9 million.

Is it not better to stay back here in Nigeria and have peace of mind than travel abroad and engage in criminal activities in a bid to survive at the expense of your peace of mind? undecided
Most folks who get the chance to leave the country usually think they have automatically made it in life owing to their delusional notion that life abroad is easy. When they get there and see that life over there is not as easy as they thought it to be,they engage in criminal acts to survive. These are the people who give this country a bad image and give outsiders reasons to erroneously stereotype all Nigerians as criminals.
We know the situation in this country is unfavourable. But is the risk of engaging in criminal activities abroad to survive at the expense of one's peace of mind really worth it? undecided

No single Igbo amaka man will be involved!

This is to reaffirm my astounding love for the Igbo race home and abroad. I think this is a way out of the frivolous bans I usually get on Nairaland..
Once again, I say from the bottom of my heart that 'I ROVE ALL IGBOS'
YOU ARE NOT CRIMINALS..
YOU ARE NOT CHEST BEATERS...
YOU ARE NOT FLATINOS...
YOU ARE NOT DRUGS PUSHERS...
YOU ARE NOT DEVELOPERS...
YOU ARE ARE NOT 5%...
YOUR REGION IS NOT A POTOPOTOR REPUBLIC...
YOU'RE NOT PIGS AND IDIOTS...
AND FINALLY..
YOU ARE NOT IGBO AMAKA

This is not good
the Thai police took the logical and most sensible decision.

These boys after their illegal loot will not keep a low profile but rather go about town recklessly blowing up, spending the money showing off and rubbing it on hardworking persons with legitimate means of livelihood.
