On August 9th 2014, osun indigenes and residents expressed unprecedented levels of confidence and returned Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola as governor for a second term. While there was obvious political intimidation of voters and opposing politicians by the then federal government, this demonstrated a truism of the statement that actions and results are inevitably proportional wherein the manifestation of one depends on the choice of the other. By attaining unprecedented levels of accomplishments in terms of performances, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has made everyone proud.

As the election comes up days away, it is important that we painstakingly consider the choices before us as stakeholders in the osun project. Ensuring continuity in terms of development is as important as the election itself.

While providing jobs and improving on infrastructure are key elements that must be adequately considered, developing an economic model that will make osun considerably independent of allocations from Abuja is perhaps more important.

For this reason, it is therefore important that voters are sensitized about the need to juxtapose and vote for the right candidate lest we become bedevil with backwardness.
Previous political and administrative experiences are key to turning our fortunes around.

Charlatans, bearers of fake qualifications and other individuals who have nothing to offer apart from a supposed promise to pay salaries are opportunists who do not posses the required mix of creativities and intelligence required to advance of our cause.

Supporting aspirants with pending litigations, as it is the case with senator Ademola Adeleke, must be given second thoughts as this will inflict political instability if they are given the mantle of leadership.

We all must rise above sentiments and come together with a view to taking our dear State of Osun to enviable heights.

Sulaiman Kazeem
