JESUS KIND OF A POLITICAL LEADER

How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. Act 10:38.
When Jesus therefore perceived that they would come and take him by force, to make him king, he departed again into a mountain himself alone. John 6:15
Jesus is known by many as Lord, some know him as prophet, to some he is a miracle worker. He is all this but also the greatest leader who ever lived on this earth. Here are some leadership examples that can be a guide to any aspiring leader especially the believers that have callings to go for political positions. Jesus lived a very impactful lifestyle both to his followers and non-followers as they were all beneficiaries of his good gestures so much that they wanted to force him to become the political leader but he didn’t yield because its against the plan and purpose of God for his life.
Provided Food for the poor – One of the most basic need of man is food, once a man is well fed, he thinks right, he’s calm and friendly. We could Jesus showing this example by feeding people that came for his retreat or camp meeting on different occasions. A good leader especially in a political position must take agriculture, food supplies and food distribution seriously. Matt; 14:21, 15:38
Provided Social Justice – During Jesus days, a woman and a man were caught in illicit affair and only the woman was arrested to be stoned to death, the man had escaped or bribed his way out. The matter was brought to Jesus, he asked the one who had no sin to throw the first stone, they all left one after the other. Equal justice should be given to all that perpetrate evil acts, and also capital punishment is not the best way of discipline, other ways of corrective reforms can be applied. John 8:11
Healing (Health) – Jesus took the health of the people as a matter of great priority. He heal all manner of diseases by the anointing of the Holy ghost. Every good leader should take the health concerns of his people a matter of utmost priority. Hospitals must be built, well equipped and staffed to best of the resources available. Matt 12:15, Luke 6:19
Teaching (Education)- Jesus was one of the greatest philosopher ever existed even though he lived a very short life. Bible recorded how he was busy teaching from one place to the other, Mount side, seaside, synagogue . He was passionate about passing knowledge to next generation and his followers. A good leader must be serious about the education of his people especially the young ones. Quality education must be delivered by competent and well motivated instructors in a conducive schools environment. Matt. 5:1-2, Luke 5:3, Luke 6:6
Criticized the evil leaders of his time (He fought corruption) – Bad leaders has always been existence for a very long time. Leaders that are wicked, selfish and inconsiderate, such were some of the Pharisees that existed during Jesus days. Jesus spoke openly against them rebuked them, which made them to hate him to the extent that they plotted his death. Jesus did not fear men who can only kill the body and not the soul. A good leader must make his position know, he must stand for what is right not minding whether it is popular or not, openly rebuke wrongdoings. Matt 23:13-29
He supported and encouraged the patriots: A good leader must appreciate and recognize those that are doing well, making significant contribution to development of the society. In this way the younger and other citizens will be inspired, encouraged and motivated to do well. Luke 7:4-6
Not Power drunk – Neither did Jesus force himself on people, nor allow himself to be cajole in to office or political position not to talk of second or third term against the plan and purpose of God for his life. A good leader see political positions as means of service and he will not compromise his faith to gain authority, he can always serve through another means not only by occupying position.Luke 6:15
Working leader – Jesus is not a type of leader that will delegate everything, that only give commands and not serving. He is the main initiator of servant-leadership style. He believes and act in such a manner that the greatest among men should be the servant of them all. Luke 22:26-27
Great Successors – The success of any leader is best known through his successor. He only succeeded fully when he is able to raise successful leaders like him. Jesus took his time to develop and train his disciples especially the twelve. He was opened about everything he did so much they could replicate him after his departure from the scene. Jesus gave a lot of attention to them, allow them to ask questions, he gave the opportunity to perform, correct them when they failed. John 14:12
Sacrificial – A lot of people see government or public positions as means to quickly enrich themselves, they misappropriate and embezzle public funds. Instead of sacrificing by forfeiting outrageous allowances for their people most of whom are wallowing in abject poverty, they kept allocating big salaries, pensions and emoluments to themselves. Jesus gave his time, talent, anointing, power and even His life for the sake of humanity. He had to accept the supreme sacrifice to be the lamb to be slain for the whole world but he surrendered to the will of God eventually.John 10:18, Luke 22:42
