How to pass UTME/JAMB exam

All over the world today,In any country or state after getting an O’ level result as a student;the next thing is to make plans to attend a tertiary institutions to get an advanced degree.

In Nigeria,after a student successfully graduated from a high school or college and decided to advance his/her studies,there are two options he/she would have to :

Prepare and write the UTME/JAMB exam.

OR

Undergo the IJMB/JUPEB programme

What is the UTME/JAMB exam

UTME stands for Unified Tertiary Matriculation Exam,it is an exam conducted annually by JAMB(Joint Admission and Matriculation Board) in Nigeria.The exam serves as an entrance exam or one of the criteria that determine if a candidate is qualified to get admitted into any tertiary institutions in Nigeria.

The exam is currently written in a CBT format,it comprises of over 250 questions;as the number of questions ranges annually.Every candidate is required to seat for English Language and any other three subjects as required in the JAMB brochure for each courses.

Cost and Requirements for the UTME

The cost of the exam ranges annually,it is always fixed by the JAMB officials,currently the cost of the UTME is fixed at N6200 only.Although,there are various complains by some stakeholders and civil groups about the high cost of registering for the exam;the exam board has always maintained that the price is not too high for a CBT exam.

To be qualified to sit for the unified tertiary matriculation exam,a student should have already possess an O’ level result with at least six credits including Mathematics and English language.It is also allowed to register and sit for the exam while awaiting an O’level result provided that you upload the result to JAMB’s portal immediately the results are released.
