Samsung Electronics has unveiled the new Galaxy A7 smartphone, its first with three cameras on the back. The new device will be available from end-September for a recommended price of EUR 349 (147,478 Naira at 423.775 exchange rate).

The 2018 version of the A7 comes with a 6-inch AMOLED screen in full HD+ resolution and a high screen-to-body ratio. It runs a 2.2 GHz octa-core Exynos processor from Samsung, 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage, as well as supporting microSD cards.

The camera features an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, 5-megapixel depth lens for achieving bokeh effect and another 24-megapixel lens to capture photos in bright and low light conditions. It also comes with Samsung’s Scene Optimizer, to categorize the subject and adjust the colour, contrast and brightness to optimize image quality. In addition, the A7 has a 24-megapixel camera on the front with adjustable LED flash, Selfie Focus and Pro Lighting Mode.

The A7 features a glass design and side fingerprint sensor and will be available in a choice of blue, black, gold and pink colours. It will also feature Bixby, Samsung Pay and Samsung Health. Samsung said the phone will be available in select European and Asian markets from this fall and expand to additional markets in the near future.

The company also confirmed that it will hold an event on 11 October in Kuala Lumpur to “welcome a new member to the Galaxy family”. Media reports suggest this will be the Galaxy A9 Pro, which will have four cameras on the back, the first smartphone of its kind in the world.
